Practical Way to Add Weight and Stability to a Pop-Up Canopy

These ABCCANOPY canopy weight bags are a practical accessory to have if you regularly use a pop-up canopy, especially when you're setting up somewhere that doesn't allow you to stake directly into the ground. The set includes four bags, so you can place one at each canopy leg and distribute the added weight around the entire structure. One thing that's important to know before purchasing is that the sand is not included. These are the weight bags themselves, and you fill them with sand or another appropriate material. I actually like this style because the bags are much easier to transport and store when they're empty than permanently weighted bases would be. The black design is also nice because it keeps them fairly unobtrusive once they're attached around the canopy legs. They're functional rather than decorative, but they don't distract from the rest of the setup. A set like this can be useful for vendor events, outdoor parties, sporting events, camping, beach setups, or anywhere else you're using a compatible canopy and want to add some weight at the legs. I especially like having all four bags together rather than needing to purchase individual weights separately. These shouldn't be viewed as a substitute for following your canopy manufacturer's setup and weather-safety instructions, particularly in windy conditions, but they're a useful way to add weight and stability during normal use. For anyone who uses a pop-up canopy regularly, these are worth keeping with the rest of your canopy accessories. Once you're finished, you also have the option of emptying them so the bags themselves take up very little storage space until the next time they're needed.

Good quality and worth the money

These are much easier to use and pack in the car. I sell at the local farmers market all summer and they look nice when the tent is set up and work well on windy days. To keep the bottom from wearing out I wrapped black duct tape around the bottom of the bags. They have lasted many years and people won't trip over them.

bright like the picture, easy to attach to the canopy, handles make this easy to move around, only down wide is if you do not get the Velcro just right, sand sometimes escapes if they fall on their side, but you learn. very satisfied. I live in western Nebraska and we have lots of wind, I am using these at vendor and craft shows, while everyone else is holding their canopy I'm not 😉

I finally decided to get a canopy because I was doing a masonry project in the front of my house and don't fair well in direct sunlight. I was using the stakes which came with it (6" metal) and they did an ok job holding it down. When the winds picked up I used 12" railroad spikes which also worked pretty well but I was growing concerned about puncturing my sprinkler lines (and they were difficult/messy to remove). I came across this product and decided to give it a shot. As others had complained about them splitting at the seems, I decided to use wet sand in ziplock bags to fill them. They were heavier to carry from my shed to the front yard every day vs. the spikes, but overall this solution worked much, much better. It also enabled me to secure them over my walkway where the spikes would not. They held up to fairly strong winds and made it easier to move the canopy with the sun 2 - 3 times a day for several months. The velcro has held up strong setting up the canopy and taking it down daily on the weekends for several months (along with the intra-day movements). I admit, I do not think they hold as much volume/weight as advertised, but for the price and my application they worked fine. I have not had any issues with tearing of the fabric so I expect these to last a while.

Only fits 20lbs of sand per bag.

These are advertised as set of 4 that holds up 150lbs. Problem I have is I filled them to the brim with sand and each bag only weighs 20lbs filled. The outdoor events I vendor at requires each leg to be weighted down by 40lbs, not 20. They are white and look nice but I've to figure out how to add another 20lbs to each leg.
