I bought the 18 inch cable model because I'm using it to plug into the back of a computer tower and the length is adequate, with the stiff cable. If I wanted to bring it all the way to the front of the tower, the 24 inch cable model would be better. This thing while not flimsy seeming is light and I intend to velcro tape it down. The hub itself is compact. It does feature a Micro USB plug (power only) for making it a powered hub which I didn't test because I would plug an external HD into it's own port, not a hub. If I did power the hub, I would probably use no more than a 1amp charger because you don't want power to bleed back to the board and potentially cause problems.

I recorded this USB hub and tested it out, noting only 3 of the 4 ports were working. I emailed the company and they are sending a replacement! The 3 ports work great with my devices, but I do need that fourth one. I’m satisfied with the product 3 working ports and am thrilled with the great customer service! Thank you!

These are nice to have. The cord is nice and thick. That’s a pro and a con sadly. Because there isn’t any weight in the main part to hold it down so it really won’t stay in place.

I purchased two of these as I am running three laptops at once and it has given me access ports for a single keyboard for each system. It allows access to any drives I want to connect and the placement of ports is ideal for using the two on the side for permanent devices and the top ports for switching from system to system. Excellent buy.
