This thing works well and gives a great massage to your back and neck. It features Shiatsu or Rolling motions, heat, and a vibrating seat. I use it in my recliner chair and it works very well. You can opt for back/neck massage, or back or neck only. You can also pause it in a certain area to provide additional massaging in that spot. The intensity is adjustable and on a higher setting, it really digs in. If it's too intense you can turn down the intensity or place a blanket over the back to cushion the action. The neck massager can switch the directional motion on command. Everything is operated with a hand-held controller so you can vary what's going on during the massage. There is a timer that can be set for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't easily reach the shoulder area between the neck and upper back but this can be aided by changing your position in the chair a bit higher. We're very amused by how it works so well. This nearly works like a massage chair. We considered to by a massage chair, but none of it has a satisfying foot massage feature.(Most of them have a pump, instead of a real rolling massage function). Let me start by saying, I have to be impressed to write a review and this massager has impressed me. I love that it’s adjustable to fit my body so it’s very comfortable. The heat, massage, and the options to change it to a rolling or shiatsu massage are great. It would have gotten 5 stars but this one has a squeak in one of the rollers in the neck which is awful since my ear is right there.     • A bit harsh (but very powerful) and too large of a proportion for my body

I'm 5'6" tall at 145lbs male. For sure the build quality is excellent and very powerful which means you can really lean into the product and still have it do it's thing. I'm disappointment that I feel I have to send it back because the reviews were great and the quality is great as well. Issue 1: At 5 foot 6 inches tall I have a rather short torso. This means if I want the neck portion of the massage to get the top of my shoulders I have to bring the adjustment of the neck massage to the bottom and sit on two pillows so my body is high enough for the neck massages to reach. Of course when I do this then the lower back massage is actually too low on my back Issue 2: I feel very strongly that there needs to be a depth of massage adjustment. For my slim frame I don't have a lot of "padding" on me. I have found that a 15 min. massage can actually add stress to me because I feel like it's too rough, pushing too hard on my back. I did add several layers of a fleece blanket which did take this harshness down a bit but it's still very harsh on my back. The neck massage seems to be good though in terms of it's depth of massage. Issue 3: The adjustments are great...really they are however for smaller people the adjustments need to able to adjust from inboard to outboard (towards the center and towards the outer of the frame) because what I have found is the back massage seems to be right on my kidneys (too wide part from center) rather than on the muscles next to my spin. Ouch. I feel like the only way I'm going to get the massage to be at my smaller portions is to use separate products that I can simply put where there needed. If thought when I walked away from a massager like this that I would feel truly relaxed but in this case I don't feel like that and tend to have thoughts like "geees now my kidneys hurt" or "It really didn't get the stress out of my upper back and low neck. That's not a good way of thinking after spending $150 on a massager I'll be sending it back in the next few days looking for something else that isn't a single piece device. Maybe go the "modular" route instead. ... show more

Is it as good as a spa massage: no. Is it a good, daily alternative to get knots and tension out of your back and neck while you work: absolutely yes. During busy work months, I sit at my home desk and work for 12-16 hours for 5 days in a row for several weeks. This massager has made a huge difference and I love how it really kneads the whole of my back and if I turn it on, the back of my neck as well. That said, it is obviously not an adjustable shape so I can see how it may not fit/work for someone who is much shorter or taller than me. I’m average female height at 5ft6 and my husband is around 5ft10, and it works well for both of us, if that provides a reference. ... show more

Very firm massage, which most everyone in the family appreciates, but it's too much for my parents. They lay a blanket over it on the lowest setting to make it a bit more gentle. It does need some adjusting in the chair to get everything positioned correctly on your back and neck. The bottom area vibrates only and it is difficult for me to feel the heat on the neck part. We got them for my parents to put on their recliners and it's a somewhat awkward fit. Does offer a good firm massage though similar to tge chairs in a nail salo.
