My back and neck have had issues for decades, and I've been looking for a better massager than the ones I've purchased in the past. This gives you a deep massage that can be a little painful at first, but the more you use it, the better you'll feel. It's a bit heavy, and a little awkward to set up, but I've found a way to make it work in the chair I use it in. It's also a bit tall. I'm 5'4" and struggle to use the neck massage because it doesn't line up for me. I'm taking away 1 star only because it doesn't really stay in the same spot when you use the "spot" option on the remote. I have a few trigger points where I'd like it to stay at, but after a few minutes it tends to move up or down past the area I want it in. Overall, however, I do like it because my back feels more relaxed after using it.

I use this back massager for lower back pain. It seems to help a lot! I am 5’ 3 and do have to sit on a pillow or two at times, depending on how low on my neck I would like it to massage. But I understand why this is necessary and this is no problem at all for me. I use it for 15 minutes in the morning and in the evening while I listen on headphones to an inspirational meditation or simply to calming music. I like the automatic timer that stops the massager after 15 minutes. This is very convenient! I never have to set anything, it just does it. ;-) I got the extended warranty because I felt I was going to give it a real workout. LOL I believe this product is fairly priced and of good quality.

This massager is nice and strong, however, it’s made for a person that’s 6 ft 6inches. I have to to sit on 2 thick pillows in order for it to massage my neck. Also, the spot selection stops and reverses every cycle instead of stopping on the spot and working continuously.

I believe there isn't much variation from one brand to another; those who buy this type of massager are looking for relief in the back, shoulders, and neck area. I tried another brand that had good reviews, and it didn't work for me. The main difference from the Snailax Shiatsu Back Massager was that the first one had small air pockets for neck massage that weren't effective in that regard, and the spheres for back massage were too large and caused discomfort instead of relief, especially in the upper back region, even using the lowest intensity level. The Snailax Shiatsu Back Massager uses spheres to massage the entire neck, shoulders, and back area. For the shoulders, due to the massager's shape, I understand it's difficult to cover the upper shoulder area, but for the neck and the entire back area, it fulfills its purpose very well. The timer is perfect; it lasts 15 minutes, and at the end, I'm much more relaxed. I'm 5'10" tall, my wife is 5'3", and this massager has been great for both of us, I recommend it 100%.

I just recommended this massager to my sister. She noticed that some of the reviews were saying that the neck massager was too high and didn't reach the lower neck. I am 5'3" and have no issue with the height. I don't know if they realize that it can be raised and lowered with the up and down arrow buttons on either side of the head on/off button. Also, if you put it in a recliner you can obtain different angles to reach more area. I have had this massager since July 2024 and it still works perfectly. Hope this helps someone with their decision to purchase.
