As someone who regularly visits a chiropractor, I wanted more back support and stumbled across this lumbar back massager. I decided to take it to the office with me as that is where I do the majority of my sitting for hours at a time. Upon taking it out the box, I was surprised to see how thick and sturdy it was. However, the elastic straps were too short to fit around my chair. An improvement would be to switch to adjustable elastic strap. To improvise, because I really wanted to try it, I sat the massager on my seat cushion for a heated lower back massage. When I want a higher heated massage, I position the massager higher and ensure the keep my back firmly pressed against it. This does not always work because the massager has no straps to secure it. If I move or get up, I have to reposition the massager. Next thing I noticed was that the massage function was not continuous. The massage stops after a few minutes and I have to restart it. The massage itself feels nice, and I do enjoy the various massage settings, however, it would be better if the massage didn’t abruptly stop. The heat setting is wonderful. It’s getting cold in NYC and the city hasn’t yet turned on the heat in my very old office building, but the heat from the massager gets the job done for now. Upon initially setting up this product, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by its potential. I decided to bring it into my workplace, where I securely strapped it to my desk chair. What made it even more intriguing was that I invited my co-workers to give it a try, and to my amazement, they absolutely loved it! The shared experience was undeniably great. As time has passed, I've continued to keep it attached to my chair, though I haven't found myself frequently utilizing the electronic features, such as the heat and massage functions. Instead, I tend to leave it unplugged. However, I do derive immense comfort from the cushion itself, which has proven to be a valuable addition to my chair. Now, the reason I've rated this product at 4 stars is due to a slight hiccup in its performance. Unfortunately, the massage feature doesn't consistently operate as expected, often shutting off after a mere 10-15 seconds, even when I diligently follow the provided instructions, which I believe are quite clear and concise. It leaves me wondering whether this issue is a product glitch or a potential quirk specific to my unit. I'm genuinely curious if others have encountered a similar situation. In conclusion, this product does have its merits, offering comfort and an intriguing feature set. However, the inconsistency with the massage function does leave room for improvement. If the performance hiccup is addressed, I believe it could easily earn a higher rating, as it has the potential to be a standout addition to any chair. ... show more

I think my expectations were kind of low on this one. Not because of anything in the listing, just because I've had lumbar products before and they don't usually impress. This was actually pretty good with only a few cons. I was pleasantly surprised. I think it's priced right. First, the material is super soft. Microfiber or something, but lovely. The overall firmness is good. Not hard at all, but it keeps its shape when you're leaning against it. For lumbar support in exactly the right spot, it was a smidge high on my back, but it was spot on for my 6' 1" husband, so it's a torso length issue. It was still good for me, my personal back discomfort is just a little lower toward the sacroiliac joint. The product comes with an instruction booklet that pretty well written for a change. I included a picture of the controller, and you can see it's not complicated. The instruction booklet explains the modes and buttons clearly. It's basically heat and vibration. There is no kneading action, just vibration, but to me it still feels pretty good. It can get a bit over stimulating after a bit, so I finished with just heat. As some mentioned, the heat is awesome. They did a good job on that part. The other reviewers are correct though, no car adapter included. The product comes with straps (shown in pic) that go around a chair to keep it in place. It's kind of a big product to put in a regular chair, so that's not my first choice, but the straps are nice if you're inclined to use it that way on a deeper chair. I used it on the sofa, and it was great. No straps required. The power cord is 58 inches long (pictured with the cord still wrapped up the way it arrived). That's not including the adapter or the connector; that's just cord. The cord tail where the power cord attaches is on the side of the product and is not long, so if you want the power to go to the other side, that will take some of your cord length. Having the tail on one side is a small con, and the shortness of the control cord that you need to have in your hand is another. You can reach it, but it's just a smidge short for comfort. If it was about 3 inches longer, it would be fine. To accommodate taller people, maybe 5 inches. But even my tall husband could use it without bending his arm back or anything. We both found the width to be fine for our bodies, but I know some people have had concerns about that. Neither of us are thin, but we're not super big either, so I guess we're about average. We both felt that the vibration stimulated blood flow and helped ease discomfort. It gets warm super quickly, so you're not waiting for 10 minutes to get it going.
