  • Works good on small line
Stripped several poles with almost no issues. The motor is a little weak and sometimes the line needed help but it is still faster than doing it by hand. The battery cover does fit a little loose, as described in other reviews. The whole thing can be a little clunky when putting line on, but it still worked with thin spools. ... show more

  • Ok
Line stripper gets 5 stars. Line spooler gets 0. I'm fine with it bc I bought it for the line stripper. They should lower the price and just sell the stripper alone bc the spooler is useless. When you try to use the spooler it doesn't stay in place, it always falls down. I put a piece of thin rubber matting on the rod and it worked, but then the spool tightens its self so tight you cant reel, or loosens so loose the spool of line is flopping around like it's in the floor. ... show more

  • Dont use wider spools as they can friction burn the spool onto the spool rod
I have respooled a reel twice with this product and it def got the job done faster than using two people, the spring is actually neatly tucked into the base of the rod meant for the spool, the base of the rod unscrews and out it pops. I found it helpful to turn that unscrewable base around that is holding the spring in place, it helps to leave the spool a bit loose on the spool rod and just help with line tention using your fingers down closer to the reel, when i use that method i can spool no problems at all. The line stripper actually works amazingly for opening up the bale and line dumping into a trash can if your gonna get rid of it. tho i usually dump it onto the ground and burn it into a ball to throw away, no real complaints about that half of the product. Ill probably buy another one when this one breaks as a good one can run about 40 dollars and cant even fit in the tackle box/bag. ... show more

  • Not a must have but it is a convenience.
If you have a broken rod you might want to add this to make it a low cost line-loading-tool. It is capably sturdy and if you practice you can set a useful degree of friction on the loading spool to keep the loaded line taut enough for a a stable packing. You should go ahead and run out the line to length and fasten it to an immovable object and then reel it in with tension to reduce its initial coiling memory on a spinning reel. ... show more

  • exactly what i was looking for
The line stripper works perfect, it’s fast and moves about 100 yards in a minute. The spool holder isn’t the best and isn’t very strong around my rods when i use it but that’s not why i bought it, I bought it specifically for the like stripper.

  • work fine
respooled several reels so far. works as advertised. slips sideways on the rod with large spools of line, works fine for smaller spools. could use a tactile surface on the inside of the line spooler. line stripper will empty a reel of 150 yds in less than 1 minute. have not used sharpener yet. overall, satisfied with both products. ... show more
