The wood is clean and dry. The addition of kindling along with the fire starters is great. I didn’t get these last year. I bought the 16-inch logs though. I had no problems at all getting these to light and I know they won’t compromise my wood burning stove. Oak burns hot and long. Perfect.

These are not the best value for the quantity of wood but the size of the logs is perfectly convenient for use in my Ooni pro pizza oven. It would also be great for tiny fireplaces where you just want to display some wood and not burn much. The oak burns very hot with minimal soot. It still gives my pizza a smoky flavor on its own but I often add a few smoker chunks of cherry or apple to add a more pronounced flavor. It will easily get your oven up to 900F, but the smaller split size means they do burn pretty quickly. Definitely not for fireplace use unless it’s mostly just for looks or you just can’t buy firewood in your area. It would also be a convenient, but spendy option for a camp out. I don’t have a fireplace and I can only get smoking wood chunks at the home improvement store. I don’t use that many logs and the local firewood guys I spoke to don’t want to deal with an order if it has to be cut to this short a length. Apparently there is an automated cutter that only goes so short and they would have to cut each one with a handheld chainsaw. So ultimately this product fits a specific need for me and I’m totally satisfied with it except for the slightly high cost.

I use oak in my Santa Maria Grill for tri-tips or Pichana. It burns a long time and has just the right amount of smoke. I put natural chunk charcoal down as a base and a couple small sticks of oak on top. Good stuff!

It was super expensive. The box came and it wasn’t just logs. There was bark and sticks and firestarters. There is absolutely no value in this. It’s not even enough wood for one night of decent fires. Also, I only ordered because the delivery date was for the 19th. It wasn’t delivered until the 22nd. I went to cancel the order when I saw the date had changed but I was going to be charged $32. Save your money. I’d give a zero stars if I could

Logs burn well and produce a terrific smoke for cooking. Everything I have smoked using these logs has turned out great. Will be buying more! Update: 11/20/2020 I just completed another successful smoke using this wood. 3 large briskets (16+lbs each), 20 lbs of pork, and 4 racks of St. Louis spare ribs. I cannot describe how clean and even the smoke I get is. Worth the money if you want to create truly great BBQ. I will be stocking up again soon!
