I was looking for a garage setup with a smith machine. They ranged in price from low to super high! I ended up going with what may have been the lowest priced option knowing I might be giving up on some things. I don't plan to be a heavy user and figured if I end up needing more I can upgrade later. I was pleasantly surprised when everything showed up. The boxes were very well packaged (only one small gash). Absolutly the best instruction/guide to assembly I've seen for such an economical unit. All parts, packages and boxes were well bagged/boxed, marked with a letter or number that went with a well marked assembly guide. The unit went together fairly easily. It did take a few hours, but that was not bad compared to some 8 hours I saw from others. The instructions and well labeled parts made it super easy. The quality of the unit is better than I'd expect from such an economical unit. There are some places you can tell it doesn't have the polish of a super high end unit, but this thing is less than $700. The biggest quality of life on this unit is the linear bearings in the smith machine! VERY SMOOTH. The solid core smith bars are a nice addition for this price too. I saw many others that these two bullet points of information cost $300 more. Near $1,000 to get similar features. Buy with confidence on this unit! You wont be disappointed! ... show more

The machine went together fairly easily but the pulley system is a real issue. Because there's so many pulleys you don't get the same resistance when you're pulling the weight and releasing it as the ones at the gym. So my boyfriend is having to use significantly more weight and still doesn't have the same resistance when letting He has emailed the company multiple times over the last week and they havn't answered. It’s a good machine once you get to install it correctly. Michelle, see customer support below. The machine: 5 stars The smith machine and the pulleys/weights move smoothly, and it is a pleasure to use. You can do a variety of exercises. It includes both wide and narrow dip bar positions, and also pull ups. It’s a good price, with coupon, considering you are getting aluminum not plastic pulleys. The bench is solid, and easily adjustable. Cons: 1. Use of your common sense is required since part numbers on the part and the instructions may not match. But it all good in the end if you also watch the video, and match up the parts visually. Install is described in multiple steps. You even get a cushion for the bar which is absent from the pictures/instructions. Be careful about orientation. I could not install the rear facia, because I got the orientation of the rear support bar at the top wrong, and I was too far along in the install to go back. It is fairly stable. I did not have any damaged parts, other than point mentioned below. Note that if you want to use the landmine you will need to buy a barbell bar, but the handle grips for the landmine is included. I think this is the case for all competitor gyms. 2. Customer support: They do not respond to the email listed. Product registration is non-existent. Just hold on to your Amazon receipt. However Amazon saves the day. Pull up Amazon customer support number in the web. They will initiate contact with the manufacturer via Amazon chat. Describe your issue clearly, include pictures, and tell them what you are expecting, In my case a bushing was missing in the pulley harness. Be ready for one day delays for each email sent and responded to. They are communicating from China. I did get the requested part, and my gym is working well after I waited for many weeks for the part to be shipped from China. You will get a call/email from the shipper since the import duties have changed. And you have to describe each part you are receiving, and it sits in customs for more than a week. ... show more

I was watching sets like these for months before finding a great deal on this one. Everything I needed was included. Took me 2 weekends, about 4 hours each day to assemble with just me and a ladder. If you want to save time and your fingers, get yourself a 3/8 ratcheting socket set. Instructions and diagrams could be a little clearer but if you take your time, it’s easy enough to figure out. ... show more

I have always wanted a smith machine!!!! So I’m pretty pumped to get one at such a great price. Assembly took some time for sure, but I like putting things together so it didn’t bother me. Seems relatively well built. A few things should be rubber/metal but are plastic, not a deal breaker though! The amount of exercises you can do on this machine is amazing!! All you could ever need! Great machine, can handle some weight on the cables very smooth. Pulley system is smooth and easy to use. The smith itself is solid I would have given 5 stars but the smith bar travel doesn't go to the floor, so I have to have a platform if Im doing bent over rows or anything involving me to stand since I'm short.
