Works great so far! I ran the freezer for 45 days on one 7 gallon propane tank. The milk jugs were froze solid and never showed any signs of thawing until the propane ran out. So far, the only issue I had was with the locking mechanism. The lock bar was placed too high and would not allow the lid to close fully. I had to reposition the lock bar slightly lower on the freezer wall. Also, this is NOT 7.1 cubic feet. It is 6.19 cubic feet (internal measurements). ... show more

    • Think twice before buying this freezer
We live completely off the grid. We use solar batteries to run typical outlets and etc.. We have to use the generator to run high wattage items such as freezer. Therefore, we purchased this propane freezer. The instruction manual is pathetic. I don’t even think it was written by somebody who actually speaks English. It will not go below 15°. It uses an incredible amount of propane and uses 300 W when you run it on electricity. Definitely not happy. Expected a much better freezer than this for as much money as I had to pay for it. ... show more

All 3 units work beautifully on propane or electric. We plugged and played and had them operational in just a few minutes. Since that time, we have had absolutely no problems. It will work with either electric or propane and freeze as hard as you want it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Working perfectly in my solar powered home. Ignitor is very nice, battery operated. Also runs on 110 ac well, great for me as during summer and lots sun I will run it off solar panels. It will also work as a great refrigerator by adjusting the thermostat. I set it for 33 degrees f , coldest beer and milk ever., use only 11 to 13 wc regulator, not the 1 psi one that comes with it ... show more

Theres not a lot of options for propane freezers and theyre not cheap. But we live off-grid and I was really missing the food storage capacity that a freezer allows. My husband made some minor adjustments to get it to burn efficiently and now its very consistent and very cold. It consumes about 20# of propane every month. We love it ... show more

This the same unit as the SMAD , which is a Chinese clone of Unique. It will work until the warranty runs out due to contaminated refrigerant ,good luck on getting it taken care of or returned. DO NOT BUY
