Forget the overpriced smart switches from GE or Lutron! This switch does everything those do, and are affordable. And they don't require an additional hub. I currently have 4 of your smart switches installed in my home. I initially purchased two, and after successfully installing those two, I ordered an additional two. Shortly, I will be ordering at least one additional smart switch. Physical installation of the switch is pretty straight forward. It installs like like any other light switch. Installing the switch on my WiFi network was slightly harder, but once I found what works, it was easy. I have found that the standard installation does not work. I had to use the alternate method of pairing the switch to my phone, in order to get it installed on the WiFi network. I was a bit frustrating at first, but once I used this alternate method, it was easy, and I used it for all subsequent switches I installed. The Smart Life App is great. I really do not have any complaints about it. It works just fine. I would like to see a switch that can be used for three-way or four-way applications (multiple light switches to a light source). The only thing needed would be an additional traveler wire. I would also like to see a switch for low voltage applications, such as to turn on a fireplace. Of course it would have to have its own power source, probably a AA battery, or such. I can say I am completely satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

Purchased this to operate an exterior coach light that had been on a photocell controlled socket that went bad. The switch comes well packaged with easy to follow instructions. In any case, Martin Jerry had already left a friendly message through Amazon with contact info in case I needed help. Physical installation is very straightforward as long as you know which is your source live wire and which is your load side that you want to control and have access to a neutral (typically the white wire). The unit is similar in bulk to a dimmer type control, so you need to make sure you have sufficient space for the installation in both width and depth. In my case I was going into a surface mounted box in my garage to control an exterior light fixture and had to swap out the original box for a deeper one I picked up for less than a buck. Additionally I snapped off (easily) the included cover plate that came with it for a standard Decora plate replacement that screwed on directly. I already had some outlets that ran on the Smart Life App and this connected right up via my 2.4GHz WiFi on the second attempt within about 10 seconds. First go-around I was about 15 feet from the switch and the app didn't find it. 2nd time around I moved within 3 feet and it picked it right up. Because I was already a user of the Smart Life App and associated Alexa skill, the switch showed up immediately in my Alexa device listing too. The switch works well manually just by pushing the button. A dim blue LED behind the surface lights up solid when the controlled light is on whether via manual or software control and stays off when power is off to the controlled light which is fine by me. I used the app to set my on/off times for the light and I was good to go. If I need more smart switches for 1-way use, this is what I'm going to buy the next time too. Updated: Can no longer recommend after 4 months I was really happy with the first switch I installed, With that said I finally installed the second one with in two days of installing the 2nd switch the first switch died. To be fair when I made my first review I was offered a refund but didn't feel comfortable expecting it as I was still intending to use them. now I regret nit taking the refund and i am going to see if I can get a refund or warranted replacement. Old review Looking for a quick and easy switch to convert your out dated switch to a smart integration this is a good option. My biggest problem is that it comes with no installation hardware and is a zigbee end device. Will update if something changes. Pros: • Works with home assistant. •Easy to install •Easy to pair with zigbee •Includes but dose not require neutral wire Cons: •It is a button instead of a switch •Makes loud switching sound when used •Flimsy feel •Does not come with mounting screws or faceplate •Found that is you tighten to box to much the switch will retain power but the switch won't activate •Despite it having continued power it is an zigbee end device ... show more

I am comparing this product to the TP-Link Kasa Smart Switch since I installed five of them. I wanted to find an alternative to TP-Link when it wasn’t on sale. I chose this Smart Switch by Martin Jerry due to the price and that if didn’t look obnoxious. Build quality. Pretty similar to the TP-Link but you can tell it’s a little lighter. I like the matte white faceplate. I prefer it over the shiny gloss that came with TP-Link. The switch itself is glossy though. The audible and tactile click of the button sucks however. It is a loud click rather than a muted click. Not a deal breaker but does make it feel cheap. Installation. Easy. Similar to TP-Link. I didn’t have any issues with wiring. Setup. I already had SmartLife and Smart Life Skills setup from a previous product. Installation on the app for this Smart Switch was easier than the TP-Link. I got it setup and working with the app in minutes. I didn’t have to WiFi connect to the switch. Smart Life app handles everything. Alexa integration worked with no issues. I have the switch up and running for a few Days now and it hasn’t had any errors. Other thoughts. When I control the light from voice or app, the audible click the switch gives off is louder than TP-Link. The blue LED also is only on when the lights is on then off when the lights are off. Would think LED on when the lights are off would make more sense. Makes it easier to find in the dark. Overall. Good product, nice price, and works flawlessly. It works as intended.
