  • Great lock with a lot of options Great lock with a lot of options
I bought this lock for the RFID tag feature, my elderly mothers hands shake and there is times were typing in a pin will take 5 minutes or even can not put the pin in to unlock the door. I am coming from a Zwave/Zigbee Yale pin pad lock, this is my second smart lock and I can say I am really impressed with the lock for the features and the price. I got this when it amazon had a $30 off coupon but I honestly would buy it again if the coupon was not an option again. Before you buy If you are thinking about getting this lock I would say do it, there is two things which I think you should know first about it though. I did not read all the info about the product before I bought it, the big thing for some people will be that this lock requires a hole to be drilled in the door to support the lock(there is a picture of the required hold on the pictures that I missed). The box does include a drill bit to drill the whole which works really well. (I ended up assembling the lock before installing in the door to test the working function of it and if I like the features about it, before I installed it permanently) The other thing which may not be a big deal to anyone is you have to download the TTLock app to set up the lock, I have an android phone and the app is well laid out. The Review The lock itself seems and feels to be decently built, the locking motion is smooth and does not bind at all internally. After drilling the hole, the installation of the lock is pretty easy. The box includes all the hardware that is needed for installation plus 4 AA batteries and two RFID cards. The lock communicates over bluetooth to set up the lock and to use the functions of it as well. The pairing of the lock was super simple and easy, I was able to set up two finger prints, a 4 digit pin and a RFID card in under 5 minutes. I can honestly say the app for administration and functionality of the lock is really fantastic definitely makes this lock something I would recommend to anyone. There is alot more features that this lock and app has to offer that for me personally I won't use but it is nice to have the option for them, you can create and share an admin key through the app to allow there people in the house to manage the lock as well. I do not plan on using my phone to lock/unlock the door often, but if I was I would probably get the wifi gateway so I can do it at a distance farther then the 33ft the bluetooth is limited to. The actual functions of unlocking the door via, fingerprint, RFID card, and passcode is really fast and a great improvement over the speed of the old Yale lock. Last remarks I currently have had this lock installed for around a week now and have had no issues with it, I live in Arizona so I am curious to see how it will stand up in our summer heat. I will give an update later on (current date 11/2020) about the summer months and how the lock as been doing. If you are thinking about ditching the old just key locks I would say do it, no having to search for keys when you get home has been amazing. Update 10/2022 The lock is working well, I would recommend buying it still. The battery life is pretty good also, I use Duracell batteries and they last close to a year. I also bought the wifi bridge to the control the lock remotely and it works just like you are controlling it via Bluetooth. With the bridge the app will tell you who unlocked the door and what time and also when the battery is getting low. The only thing I would add is if you live in a climate where it rains often be prepared to have to wipe the lock dry before you can use the fingerprint or keypad. ... show more

  • Over 3.5 years and still going strong
I bought this when I moved in to my new condo over 3.5 years ago and have had nothing but good luck with this unit. Everything works every time except when I try opening or closing from the app. However I'm not sure it's the locks fault as my door isn't exactly new. The wifi connection However is strong and i never have an issue connecting. The battery life is about 9 months to a year, obviously depending on the amount of use. I recently gave my gf access and it has reduced the battery life somewhat. I also am using higher quality batteries with this unit to help with this. The quality seems to be there, since it's been almost 4 years now. The installation isn't bad. Anyone with the correct tools could do it as long as you're following directions and paying attention lol. Pretty much like anything else. It looks as nice as it works. I would absolutely recommend this product. I paid quite a bit more when I bought it than it it now. I really like this product and would absolutely recommend it. I'm buying one for a friend as a housewarming gift. Think its perfect. ... show more

  • Good Value, But Temperamental Fingerprint Reader
A review of the pros and cons of this lock. Let's be nice and start with the pros. It's very reasonably priced. The deadbolt mechanism operates smoothly. There are a number of ways you can open the door — by key, by code, by fingerprint, by phone, etc. I went to the expense of being the Gateway device, which lets you control your lock with your phone. I am impressed by it. Now the cons. 1. The fingerprint reader is very temperamental. It works about 33% of the time. For a baseball player, that's a great average. For a lock, it's not. You have to touch it just so. If too lightly, it will not register. It you let your finger linger on the reader, it will quickly reject you multiple times, sometimes triggering the automatic five minute lockout. 2. There is no lock button on the keypad. When the company did not go to the trouble a spending a dollar or two more to create one is beyond me. The keypad, like the fingerprint reader, is temperamental, although it has a higher batting average. I found it best to simply use the # key. Press it once to active the keypad. Then put your finger on the # key again and hold it there until the door locks. 3. Directions. Rather than using the QR code to go to the internet installation video, I decided to follow the directions in the pamphlet provided. This was a mistake. Several of the directions are inaccurate. The most notable was one which directed me to insert screws into the inside component of the keypad. The holes where it told to insert the screws did not exist. But overall, a very good lock. ... show more

  • Great Value Smart Door Lock
We swapped out our 1st gen August lock with this SMONET lock and matching handle (B09V571VMK). The combination looks great. The quality of the hardware is mid-range at best, but wanted to try a value lock first before upgrading to a name brand like Kwikset or Yale down the road. For $120 (after coupon), the SMONET lock works as advertised and quickly setup the pin code and fingerprints for the whole family, which all work well. We've only had it for a few days, so can't speak to its longevity, but the install was relatively simple and the app is straight forward and easy to use. The most difficult part was aligning the lock plate, which required some chiseling of the door frame, but would need to be done for any new lock. In general, It just works, which is what we wanted, not an overly complex lock/app that tries to upsell the customer on accessories or subscriptions (which has regrettably become the norm these days). My favorite feature is the auto-lock settings, which can be set from 10-60 seconds after the door is unlocked. We never need to worry about an unlocked front door again as long as it's closed. We also bought the gateway (B0811J4PL8) in order to unlock the door when not home and to control the lock from Google Home & Alexa. If you decide to do the same, it needs to be linked to the "ScienerSmart" app/service for Google Home and the "TTLock" app/service for Alexa. It's a bit confusing to have different names for everything (SMONET for the hardware, "Next Lock" for the Android/IOS app, "TTLock" for Alexa and "ScienerSmart" for Google Home. Once you figure this out, then can control the lock across all your smart devices. Google Home actually works better than Alexa and can unlock the door (with a code) from my google next. Alexa linked to the lock fine, but currently can't unlock the door as it says that I need to enable locking in the App, which I've done, but still doesn't work; I'll troubleshoot this more, but no luck on the first attempt. To address some of the other critical reviews, this lock and company is likely based in Southern China and wouldn't expect to have a perfect owners manual or packaging; I don't think it was copy-edited by a native English speaker. That said, these types of locks are a dime a dozen in East Asia and trust that they're working off of proven technology that just needed adaptation for the North American Market. Some feedback for the SMONET folks.....If you want to up your game and improve review scores, I'd recommend hiring out a professional copy-edit company in Hong Kong, Singapore, USA and spend a bit more on the packaging to have thicker cardboard and replace the foam insulators with ECO/Cardboard options (take inspiration from Xioami or Anker). I'm sure these marginal improvements would allow you to better compete with the larger brands on the platform. ... show more

  • The best door lock I’ve ever had! 10/10
TLDR: this door lock is amazing, customer service is amazing, and even potentially stoped a break in at my house. 10/10 I’ve had this door lock 9 months now (purchased a house in Dec 22 and purchased lock in Jan 23) and it hasn’t failed me! I love the fact that there are multiple ways to unlock the door: fingerprint, app on my phone, card reader (forgot what it’s called), pass code, AND a regular key for those who like it old school. The app is decent, not the best in the world, but it’s easy to use and works great once you get the hang of it! In addition to that the customer support is amazing!! I recently reached out because my fingerprint sensor was acting funny… turns out it was actually just me needing to change the batteries (whoops!). Regardless they communicated with me though text (blue text!!) so it was quick and immediate. The person who helped me was called Winter! Customer service 10/10. Now it’s working great - back to normal. In May 2023 someone tried to open my door at 3 AM in the morning. I have a ring camera system, and on the video could see how confused they were at trying to use the door lock. The guy even put his finger on the fingerprint sensor and then got scared when it said “operation failed” and flashed its light. This door lock is honestly great and I plan to personally use it going forward, and gift it to family and friends as a housewarming gift in the future! 10/10!! No I’m not getting paid in any way to write this just sharing a honest review to help others!! ... show more

  • Poorly advertised....
I am writing to formally report a product design issue and misleading feature representation regarding my smart lock system using the TTLock platform and DS2 door sensor. The system includes a lock, gateway, and door sensor. The interface clearly presents door sensor integration and implies functional interaction between the sensor and lock. However, the lock does not support auto-lock based on door status, only time-based auto-lock. This limitation is not clearly disclosed and creates a significant functional gap. More importantly, the current design can cause physical damage to the lock mechanism, as the bolt attempts to engage even when the door is open. As a consumer, I reasonably expected that a door sensor would enable the lock to respond to door state (i.e., lock when closed). This is a standard and widely understood smart lock behavior. I request: Clarification on whether this functionality is supported or intentionally restricted Disclosure of compatibility limitations between TTLock devices Any available firmware updates or solutions Consideration of a refund or replacement if this functionality cannot be provided This issue impacts both usability and product durability and should be addressed clearly for consumers. Thank you for your time and response. ... show more

  • Very reliable and comfortable lock
The lock was very easy to install and setup. Using your finger print to unlock your door is very useful as you do not need to take anything with you but your finger(s). While my own fingerprints would be recognized in 95% of the cases my wife's fingerprints would show a slightly higher fail rate. I guess if she would put a new set of her fingerprints to the lock it would improve the recognition rate for her too - but she prefers the included tag batches anyway - you can always purchase further tags and program them to the lock, bought a pack of 3 badges for under $10.. When you leave home, the lock would lock the door behind you automatically so you cannot forget to lock your door. There are plenty of settings and ways to use the lock - even old fashioned metal keys can be used. I think they sent 2 or 3 metal keys with the lock but we only use 1 for an emergency backup stored at a friend's place. The mobile app allows you to setup and control anything including temporary key codes. So you can allow people you trust to enter your house just by setting up a code for them remotely. You must not even be in the country. The lock is reliable and never locked us out but I would still recommend having one of the physical keys stored at a save place - just in case of an emergency. We haven't had such a case by now. After about 8 months the lock got unresponsive - we were at home so it was not a big deal. I opened a ticket with Smonet and they arranged a very quick replacement. We worked with Jackson, a customer service representative for Smonet. He was super helpful, skilled, and very fast in communication via email and WhatsApp. Good purchasing and support experience. • Greatest Lock Ever Greatest Lock Ever
My wife and I have feel in love with this lock and the capabilities that it has. When we first started researching which smart lock we wanted for our bedroom, this one was the first choice after reading the reviews. This lock, complimented with a good gateway, will ensure that you have the ability to lock and unlock your door from anywhere you have cell phone reception. It as has the ability for you to use the key option, fingerprint option, code option and digital card option! WOW, I know right lol! It is literally a 4 to 5 minute installation that any adult can do! The app that it uses is also so user friendly that my 7n and 9 year old are able to use it! The only recommendation that we would give you is if you get this invest in 8 AA "RECHARGEABLE" batteries. In the picture we have regular ones that we are going to use until they die and then we will be using the rechargeable ones. That was the only thing we could say is a downside, but it really isn't because we figured if we have 8 rechargeable ones that we will always have a way to keep it charged. It also has an option to charge it with a USB! If you are looking for a lock that looks amazing and is easy to use then this is your best bet! ... show more
