Good news: it works to add a magnetic connector to the back of your phone. In fact, that magnet is pretty strong. There's no way my phone will fall off its charger, and in fact I have to put a little bit of force into it to pop it off. It looks fine, other than the logo not aligning nicely to the visible magnet ring, but that's Apple's fault, really. The material is a basic plastic; if you use your case for protection, expect this to be a "light duty" solution. It looks nice, for the most part, but! But! It doesn't go on all the way. If you get your phone tucked into three corners, the other one is going to be flush rather than tucked under the lip. No amount of bending, stretching, strong-arming, or anything else managed to get the entire phone snapped in at all four corners. In practice, it hasn't been a problem. Over several months the case hasn't fallen off, and it doesn't feel loose in any way. If I chucked my phone to the sidewalk, though, there might be some chance it would pop out of the case.
