I've used these for a year and 2 months. They do a good job and interface well with Google assistant if you set up Google home or with the smartlife app. I have them set up to turn on and off through verbal inputs to Google assistant on my samsung watch, which makes using them very easy. Range of colors is good and there's a good amount of customizing you can do. I have mine set to turn on at 7 to wake me up for work. Only issue is that, if the power goes out, you sometimes have to turn them on and off a few times to get them to resend to the router. I'm leaving this review because I had a great interaction with this company's support team, which i find sometimes is even more important than the product itself. Recently, a power outage caused one to no longer get into pairing mode or sync with the router. It started to just shine a bright light and get hot as you left it plugged in (no fire or danger, just couldn't get it to respond to the router). I contacted support. Someone immediately answered the phone (no stupid answering service or twenty menus to go through). They were extremely friendly; there was no interrogation at all. They said this product has a 2 year warranty and they would send me a new bulb. They collected my order number and the replacement bulb is on the way. I was very pleased. I’ve only had them a few months but they’ve worked perfectly so far. I’m very happy with the functionality - controllable via alexa, no problems getting them connected. I use routines to turn them on around sunset and later dim them at different values, then turn them off late at night. My initial impression of these light bulbs was not good. The first set I received had all sorts of issues. Two didn’t work at all, and none would enter pairing mode. I wrote an unfavorable review and returned them. Shortly thereafter, however, the seller contacted me to let me know that an upgraded version of these bulbs had been released. They offered to send me some free of charge, and I agreed to give them another chance, since all I’d be risking was time. Well, I’m happy to report that the new and improved bulbs do seem to work quite well. They paired without a hitch, they’re nice and bright, and they render various colors effectively. The Smart Life app used to set them up was simple to operate, and Alexa integration was a snap. I’m hopeful that these bulbs will last a long time. Light bulbs don’t last forever, though, and I will not hesitate to purchase this brand again when it becomes necessary. ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked that this lightbulb has like a bio-timer. Basically you can set the light to turn on and off and certain times of day and you can also manually change it. I use it in my kids room so they know it’s bed time or time to rise. Brightness: It can be very dark or very bright. It’s up to you! Color: Every color in the rainbow and then some. Lifespan: Hard to say for now. The only thing that slightly bother me is you can only control it with your phone and so if I’m not phone my husband messes with it and it disconnects and that tends to be a pain. Which if you have kids they might do that too making you reconnect constantly. It’s usually pretty quick fix and that’s more user error then the product itself. ... show more

Update: This company has great customer service. They reached out to me and sent two new bulbs. I hope they prove that the others were just a fluke. I bought these in mid February and they were great. Connected to my internet and to Alexa wonderfully. But now, just 3 months later they keep losing their connection. I have to turn the light off at the switch and wait a few moments and then turn it back on allow it to reconnect and then they work fine, for a few minutes. One or two always seem to lose their connection causing my three bulb light fixture to partially turn on or off. Waste of money. ... show more

    • Doesn’t retain their settings after power loss-creates a hazardous experience when blinking rapidly.

Bottom line, these bulbs are unable to retain settings if the power gets turned off and are only partially compatible with the Alexa device. For the price they should do more. I have tried over several months to use these bulbs in our master bedroom suite. The bedroom, hall, closet, and bathroom lights are managed using a single Alexa dot to provide red light at night to help with sleep. All but the bedroom use Govee lights, while the chandelier uses these candelabras. Over these months, I’ve never had to reset and reconnect the Govee lights after power outages or accidental switching them off. These bulbs, on the other hand, change into near seizure-inducing strobe lights after power is restored. Then I have to climb up to the chandelier to first unscrew them all, then reconnect each one separately. I never had to do this with the other lights. These bulbs next thing they have begun to do now is to only respond to certain commands, such as on and off, however, they are stuck at full glaring white, while the other lights can be easily dimmed or changed color. Bottom line, 4 stars for a basic, uninspired installation, 2 stars for intermittent connectivity, 3 stars for lifespan, and 1 for the rapid flashing, which in an otherwise dark room, is a hazard. ... show more
