I love this about this brush because once in a while I want to remove it to thoroughly clean it separately from the handle. I grap all of the bristles and pull with steady pressure to remove. Just make sure it is pushed all of the way in when you start basting, it holds securely and does an excellent job.

This looks like a very nice brush. Very sturdy & sleek looking with nice silicone bristles. However it’s not as long as I like for a bbq basting brush. I would recommend it if you’re ok with that.

Your 12 inches from any heat with the handle length. It' s stainless steel which means it will last basically forever. One reviewer said his handle rusted, that reviewer is probably a troll, stainless does not rust. The silicone brush holds the barbecue sauce and applies it in a nice and easy stroke. You don't have any issues with adding bristles to your food. Some other reviewers complained the silicone bristles wore out much to quickly. Again, if you get to close to the heat that could happen. HQY sells a replacement 3 pack of the silicone bristles for $5.99. They pop in and out in a second. I bought the brush, and the 3 pack. For a grand total of $12.98, I have the handle and four sets of bristles. I can do multiple types of sauce or baste while I am cooking different things. Just pop the brushes in and out, and then clean them up after things are done. They clean real easy. No question, this is the best application tool that I have ever owned. ... show more

    • Saves my hands from burning
I use this all the time with my grill now. Was getting tired of using short handled one from the kitchen and getting burned. This has been great and can wash in dishwasher with no issues.
