Use it with my a7iv with no issues, great for self portraits when I have my camera on a tripod. Als great for Astro photography.

I had high hopes for the SmallRig Wireless Remote Control. But thus far I'm unimpressed. Right out of the box, it was the right size, controls appeared easy to use, battery included, little did I know the frustrations to come. The battery compartment was nearly impossible to open by hand. I had dismissed those needing tools as hypberbol, but 5 minutes later I was seriously giving getting a pair of plyers as an option when it finally (somehow) slipped open. Now that I could see it battery compartment was well marked, apparently would need only one of the two coin batteries. Always nice to have a spare. And activated, blue led for when shutter depressed. Flashing for pairing... so why won't it pair? My Sony A7Cii acts like it never even noticed. Another 15 minutes laters and I've had it. Pity as I had high hopes for it being easier and more convenient that the "smart phone" app the manufacturer recommended. Strike one - NO instructions Strike two - hard to access battery compartment Strike three - not able to pair to camera inspire of claim (Alpha 7C II ) Y'er out.

The media could not be loaded. Added the small rig remote for my Sony A7iv. Needed a remote for long exposures and group selfies and this does work great for video and photos. Price is on point and set up was not difficult despite what others say of you follow directions. The down side is that it will not stay attached solidly to the hot shoe so to have easy on and off access I added a 1” length x 1/4” 20m thumb screw instead of the Allen head included. Money has time to be whipping out an Allen wrench to take it on and off. This should be a simple ad to the small rig device for future purchases by the company. Overall I am a big fan of the small rig products. Video and pics added for your interests.

This is a great with NONE of the negatives in some reviews. Setup was a snap, the button was smooth and easily went from focus to shutter. A+++ Here's the problem: I bought this with the SmallRig Mini WoodenGrip (GREAT!) - but when I mounted using the cold mount clip the easy movement was too flexibile and moving. YMMV. A security screw is provided however there is no tap hole in the Grip - nor room to add one.

It's fine and is handy to have in the kit especially when doing car work or situations where the camera is placed out of reach. However, on my unit the button has become barely stuck under the lip of the button enclosure to the point where you have to press the button multiple times just to release it from the spring or whatever is holding it up. Very cheap piece of kit that won't last a lot of button pressing in my experience.

I like that it came with two batteries, easily paired with my Sony camera, and offers several options to carry having a clip and a 1/4 threaded hole with screw.

The media could not be loaded. It comes with two batteries!! I couldn’t find any documentation that had it but can confirm. The button is tense so you need to press a little firm but it works well.
