I film weddings and this handle comes in clutch and helps make holding my camera all day easier and more comfortable. I have smaller hands so I was a little worried it wouldn't be comfortable but I've been pleasantly surprised.

If you have a camera where the back screen doesn't flip out to the side (like a Sony Alpha camera, for instance), this would be a great side handle for you. The NATO quick release makes it very easy to connect and disconnect it from your camera cage, it's quite comfortable to hold, and the mounting points on the top just add to its versatility. You can even reverse the mount and use it as a right-side handle. My camera, however, is a Panasonic GH5, and when I swiveled the screen out to the side, the handle kept it from fully extending (unless I positioned the screen vertically). And if I was actively gripping the handle, there was even less room for the screen. When I shoot handheld, I almost always have the screen out to the side and tilted upward so I can view it from above a bit, and that just wouldn't have been possible with this handle, so I had to return it for a handle that sits further forward (I went with SmallRig's Left Side Wooden Handle with Rosette Mount 1891, which is very comfortable and can be mounted out in front of the screen, so I'm happy with it; the only drawback is the loss of the mounting points on top, but I can make do without them). That said, I still give it 5 stars for being a quality product. I won't knock it down a star just because it doesn't fit my camera. If there were no other options out there that would work, then it'd be another matter. But there are, and I learned something in the process of trying this one, so I still say it's a great handle. ... show more

I like this handle a lot. It's sturdy and built to last. It's swap-able to left or right side. You can also switch which side the tightening knob is on. May seem like a tiny thing but when rigging different cameras for different tasks, being able to swap it around is super useful. I prefer wooden over metal or rubber coated metal. All metal handles get hot in the summer and cold in the winter when shooting outside. Wooden handles are always comfy no matter the weather. Rubber coated handles can be nice at first but almost always break down and get gross after a lot of use. ... show more
