  • Great value - very sturdy
Size: BUT2665
This is a nicely made small ball head. It compares very well to a Giotto I bought years ago for a whole lot more. The clamps work very quickly - a quarter turn from wide open to full lock. It's well suited to point-and-shoots, smaller mirrorless cameras with light lenses, and mobile phones (by adding an appropriate clamping adapter.) Stick it on an inexpensive tripod, or a gorilla pod-type unit, and you'll have a great stable platform for mobile phone photography. It also has a bubble level attached so you can get the horizon level. ... show more

  • Outstanding option
Size: 3034
Usually buy Manfrotto equipment, but after getting a new mirrorless camera was in the market for a ball-head and I explored the options. I had not heard of SmallRig but saw rave reviews and took a chance on this much better priced item, (and an L-bracket for the beautiful Nikon Z fc). VERY glad I did. The Ball Head is very well made, moving parts work very smoothly, and it is rigid for my purposes. Additionally, the transaction went exceptionally smoothly. Well done, would do again. ... show more

  • Solid and small!
Size: 3034
Great versatile head that can go on many stands! I like to use it on some of my smaller stands.

  • Excellent ball head
We all know Smallrig make very good items. this is not the exception and in a very good price point. I match this with my mantis mini tripod and others too.

  • It's great so far
Size: 3034
I bought this to replace a old pistol grip head on my tripod. Looks to be a good quality build and pans smooth and holds solid. Overall very happy with my purchase. Will update if anything changes but all the other Smallrig gear I have has been excellent.

  • Comparison of BUT2665 and 3034
Size: 3034
I was unsure of which of these models to get to accompany a SIRUI AM225 tripod so I ordered both. The 3034 has red anodized knobs, the BUT2665 only has the red anodized ball. They're functionally identical. The BUT2665 weighs 160 grams to the 3034's 171 (both without included ARCA plates). The 3034 is slightly taller. The diameter on the base of the BUT2665 is about 41mm to the 3034's 36mm. I ended up keeping the BUT2665 as a slightly better interface match to the SIRUI legs, but both seem good and solid with a Canon M6 Mk2. ... show more
