Tripod seems built well. I did however had to tighten the screw for the camera adaptor plate to keep the lever in the latching mechanism flat / closed position. It came a little bit lose from the factory. It however works great now. I use it with my FALCAM adapter. Very happy with my purchase.

Don't be scared by the unfamiliar name "SmallRig"; this tripod is the real deal. No cheap materials, no creaks or gaps or flimsiness. The twist-lock mechanisms are solid, with no play or give. In short, the construction is awesome. The LONG telescoping legs are composed of steel, and the degree of base diameter adjustment is huge. Not only do the legs telescope, but the camera mount pole itself also telescopes. At its highest, your camera is over 6 feet in the air! This tripod also features two bubble levels: one in the base, and the other on the head (see photos). The head features a quick-release plate that will screw into your camera, which is must. There is also a weight hook between the three legs, allowing for extra stabilization capabilities. The whole tripod collapses down into a bag that's only 2 1/2 feet long, and has a shoulder strap for easy transport. As a bonus, you get a smartphone adapter and a carrying bag. I found the smartphone adapter to be nice and strong, able to hold my iPhone 14 with no slippage, and is independently adjustable. I'll be using this tripod to shoot photos and events outdoors, and I'm thinking about starting a vlog now. WAY better than I anticipated!

I am a fan of smallrig tripods. I generally have used their more expensive stuff it's always been great value for what you pay so I wanted to try a more budget tripod that I don't need to worry about as much when traveling. The good: * Can open very wide stance. * Dual bubble levels. * Solid metal legs. * Underside mount can be used independently so you can mount 2 heads. * Undermount weight holder springloads out of the way when not in use. * Angle marking on the center section for the legs. * The head has a side tilt function on top of the the normal rotate and front/back tilt. * Quick mount shoe. * Included phone holder. The bad. * No included manual in the case. I know it's fairly simple stuff for those who photograph lately but someone who might be in the market for a more budget tripod might not be as well versed or want to look online for a manual. It doesn't have to be super large but a few quick start features might help some novices. * If you have the rotate knob a bit tight the head will just rotate off if you pan counterclockwise. As a result you have to leave it a bit loose to avoid this which gives you less control when panning. If you don't plan on swapping heads some loctite should fix this. Otherwise you're stuck panning in one direction or making the rotation loose. This is the tripods biggest flaw imo. * The entire head feels a bit cheap. This is where you can tell the cost cutting happened mostly. It looks like they are fully expecting you to switch this out. It still functions fine but definitely does not feel super robust. Although given the price point and the fact that it still hits plenty of features I can't knock it too much. It can also be easily swapped out. Other thoughts: This feels very solid even at the maxed out 6'+ length. It is heavier than my aluminum and cf tripods but at that price point that's to be expected. I don't think the extra weight is anything to worry about unless this is part of of a camping packout and you're worried about every bit of weight. The price seems to bounce around a bit. If you catch this on sale it is a great deal. I'd probably still swap the head for a nicer one but if you aren't that picky this one does the trick just fine.

Really nice tripod. Well made of quality materials. I like the quick-release leg clips. They are much faster than the twist-lock variety. The tripod is fairly light in weight, but not the lightest I've used (and I have at least 4 or 5). It's best suited for still photography, but could be used for video on a fixed shot or some situation that doesn't need fluid, smooth moves. The head is a standard photo head, not a fluid head for video. Comes with a quick-release plate. I think a suitable panhead for video could be mounted after removing the photo head. The tripod is very sturdy, and even includes a hook at the bottom of the center rod, to hang a weight for extra stability. Overall, this is a very good tripod. Sturdy, and should last many years. SmallRig is well known for quality products, and this one is no exception.
