  • a pretty great tripod
UPDATE: After the company saw my initial review of about two stars, they reached out with an offer for a full replacement and refund. I was honestly shocked that they did, but agreed to their proposal. I doubted I would receive it in time for an event I was going to, so I had gotten a replacement tripod of another company to fill the void($108 Joby). Unbelievably, it the smallrig tripod showed up extremely quickly, the day before I am set to go to the event(tomorrow as of writing this.) While I have not pushed it to the limits since receiving the replacement, it is blatantly obvious how much better this one is compared to my initial purchase. All the legs slide out freely when appropriate, the neck doesn't seem like it will freeze up either. If I do end up having problems again, I will update the review once again, but it seems like I won't have to. If I had received this the first time, I'd be more willing to go to 5/5, and while the customer service was 999/10, the initial impression is still pretty fresh in my mind. INITIAL REVIEW: when i received the product, 2 of the 3 legs had dents in them to make extending the legs extremely difficult. after trial and error of slamming them outwards i managed to loosen them up somewhat. i had assumed this to be fine, but after going on a walk with a friend to take photos, multiple sections of the tripod have frozen up completely and/or have seemingly freed themselves from the rest of the body entirely. honestly, ive only had good experiences with smallrig so it was surreal the amount of trouble i had with this tripod. the center column is jammed and no matter which way i turn anything i can't get it sorted, and the pole for the head cannot be affixed properly to the body anymore. ... show more

  • 4-star overall, but 5-star value
It's not perfect, but it's so much better than anything I've used within 3x its price that's it's easily a 5-star value. It's my main home-studio tripod now. The things that aren't perfect are mainly down to how well the adjustments hold. I have to tighten the center pole really tight to keep it from slipping, and the ball head just doesn't hold perfectly at all. I have to aim my camera several degrees above where I want it before tightening down. Still, those downsides are easy to live with for the price. It's easier to use than the $1000 Bogen I used for years till I got tired of lugging it around. The monopod is a better conversion than others I've had, but not something I'll use often since I have a dedicated one. If it's important to you, know that it's pretty good! Note that for macro work, hanging a heavy object from the center column hook really makes a big difference in vibration. ... show more

  • Perfect Real Estate Photography tripod, with one little quirk.
Bought this to replace my older style tripod for real estate photography (you know, the ones with the two adjacent handle things?) and it has done it's job perfectly. Actually shaved my house shoot time down from around 45mins, to around 30mins. That alone makes it worth. The only little quirk this thing has, is the legs slowly become loose overtime. I've owned this guy for a couple months and I've had to re-tighten the legs just as the first rolls around like clockwork. However, that's fine with me. I do gear maintenance every week anyway. Overall, I definitely recommend. Just keep an allen wrench close by. ... show more

  • Very High Quality
I purchased this and another virtually the same style and this one is roughly 20% higher quality for sure. You can just tell the moment you open it and while you're setting it up. The way it operates is more intuitive and it just feels and looks slightly higher quality.

  • Simple, well-made, and sturdy for a small mirrorless or DSLR
For such a low price, the build quality of this tripod is really good. Add to that it's versatility, different feet, monopod, and the ability to mount the camera upside down within the tripod. Great! Disclaimer - I am not a pro photographer, just a hobbyist - but this has worked great for me.

  • Good for what I need it for.
Used this to attach a chronograph on it for my air rifle. Works great and is stable.

  • Great for chronograph
I bought this tripod to replace the flimsy one that came with my Caldwell g2 Chronograph. I was very pleased with the ability to adjust it when setting it up at the range. The bubble levels help make sure it’s level to prevent a strike

  • Nice and steady
I take long exposure photos. This is very reasonably priced. Attaching my gh6 Panasonic is easy and with levels … I can’t go wrong!
