This is a well-made and very nice pet door. Installation is tricky because of the trim panels that go between the two parts of the frame that go on either side. First, they need to be trimmed depending on the thickness of the location. Two, they are straight, while the frame is curved on each side at the bottom (though if you're careful you can curve them to match). And they are all too long and need to be trimmed. The instructions are incomplete and end with drilling the holes for the screws that hold the two halves together, but most people should be able to figure it out. My biggest complaint is that the template you're supposed to use to cut the opening is not the right size. I had to do quite a bit of trimming to get everything to fit. That said, once installation is complete, it's a very nice door.

I do not recommend installing it yourself , hire a professional because it took me like ten hours and fought with my husband while putting it together. Dogs love it and it works well

It took me a while to install this unit. With zero instructions outside of a template for cutting the opening, there is no explanation on how to install he interior plastic strips. Then when the door is in the closed position there is a 1/4 inch gap on the left side of the flap.

I had my son-in-law install it and seemed to have no problems getting in and set. The door it went in was screened on top and heavy duty aluminum on the bottom. It took my dog a bit to figure it out; a problem with the dog not the door😁.

Everything about this doggie door is fine, except for the fact that it doesn’t have a channel to hold the rubber gasket in place. Meaning, unless you MacGyver something to hold the gasket in place, every time it rains, water is going to get down behind the frame and into the core of your man door. Egregious design fault IMO. Rather than go to the trouble of returning it, I managed to use Elmer‘s glue every few inches and in the corners to hold the gasket in place. Once it dried for about 15 minutes, I was able to install the doggie door and the gasket stayed where it should. The flat plastic pieces that you put inside the doggie door to hide where you cut into your man door work fine, but they’re a bit tricky to install. I would never buy this again.

We bought this because my patient had a very large old cat that couldn't get through traditional Kitty doors. My only complaint is that the side pieces were a little difficult to put in. That may be because the door what's not a stock size door. But overall the function was fantastic!
