Description

This Skytech remote control system was developed to provide a safe, reliable, and user-friendly remote control system for gas heating appliances. The system can be operated thermostatically or manually from the transmitter. The system operates on radio frequencies (RF) within a 20' range using non-directional signals. The system operates one of 1,048,567 security codes that are programmed into the transmitter at the factory; the remote receiver's code must be matched to that of the transmitter prior to initial use.

Our gas stove is the main heat source in our LR/DR/Kitchen area during the day, keeping it cozy warm at an economical price. Without the remote and thermostat, our rooms would get to 75, we'd turn it off, it would cool down, we'd turn it back on, it just wasn't handy. This is affordable, very easy to install, simple to join the remote to the receiver, and works great. Our stove is an Enviro Westport Steel, it has the purple wires at back joined together with male\female connectors. All that was required was to disconnect them from each other and plug one end to each of the wires off of the receiver. Simple ! It keeps our space within 2 degrees, turning off and on, and has a shutdown timer if we ever want to use that feature. This is a terrific add on for any fireplace or stand alone gas heat stove. Opening the box and getting everything connected and paired up took less than an hour. Nice ! ... show more

I bought this item to replace one about 20 years old. I found that the wires for both old and new receivers attached the same so I did not have to get behind the heater to hook it up. All in all, it took about five minutes to get it going.the transmitter was intuitive and all works very well.

My first one was wired and is now ten years old with never a problem. Built a new house and purchased this one with no regrets. I like the no wires part a lot and being able to easily move the thermostat between floors is a plus. Other models have more features but this model is simple to set and use. I like uncomplicated installs. My furnace is a sealed, LP gas fireplace that runs up the center of the house through an open mezzanine, thus I am able to always keep the thermo within the required 20ft operational range.     • Wonderful fireplace accessory
I needed a remoter thermostat for our gas fireplace. This was the best purchase ever. So easy to install, just plug in a couple of wires and it works perfectly.

    • Uses throwaway batteries
This unit works quite well. My only complaint is that it uses throwaway batteries and I hate that. Although I can use rechargeable (eneloop) AA batteries in the receiver, they only last a few months. I would like the units to contain rechargeable batteries or to retain their pairing when changing batteries. (I have been able to replace the batteries in the receiver without needing a repairing but haven't tried the transmitter yet.) ... show more

    • Worked for a while. Dangerous!
We've had this set up since 2019. Worked for a few years as intended until this season. Multiple times we have come home to our stove overheating because the receiver won't turn off the stove when it should. We have replaced all batteries, done the learn pairing on the remote to the receiver, even moved the remote closer to the receiver, still no fix. I even contacted skytech support and that was a complete waste of time. Not pleased with how dangerous this is and 0 help from the manufacturer for how pricey this was. ... show more

    • Easy to Install, Synchronizing is still tricky at best
I had an older version of this unit. The older one just wouldn't sync remote to controller anymore. The older unit was a 7 day programmable remote which was extremely difficult to program. This unit was a breeze. Let me state that I am a technical minded person who deals with computers and electronics for a living. Getting this to sync was difficult at best. To be honest, I still do not understand how it happened. I followed the directions to the tee. SEVERAL times. And it just started working. Go figure. BUT once you get it sync'd, it works flawlessly. Because of the synchronizing issues is why I dropped to three stars. ... show more
