This is a small but mighty addition to my heating plan for my home. I have a wood furnace in my basement which sends heat through the old oil system's ductwork. This little fan uses the heat that I used to lose from the chimney connection pipe to move warm air around my basement. I love the efficiency and the fact that it will still be working when the power goes out. I'm very pleased. Also - this could not be simpler to install. This product was easy to install, it is quiet and works well. I was considering purchasing another one and would recommend it. Very rarely it doesn’t work when it hits the temperature it needs, but in that case if you give it a tiny push clockwise it works.

Only comes with 2 hose clamps for mounting on 6" stovepipe. Will not fit 8". Comes on at advertised temp, but really does nothing at all to distribute heat. Don't know how many cfm it actually produces, but you can't feel any airflow at all until you put your hand within a few inches of the fan. This wood stove fan is a decent product overall. I really appreciate that it doesn’t run on electricity—that’s a big plus and definitely helps save on the electric bill. It starts spinning once the stove heats up and distributes some warmth around the room. However, it doesn’t push out nearly as much heat as an electric-powered fan would, so if you’re expecting strong airflow, you might be a little disappointed. I’ve had it for almost a month (last one I bought in a previous house was unavailable) and this one needs to sit directly on the wood stove. Simply will not - has not- ever spun while attached to the pipe. Very disappointed. Two stars because it at least spins when leaving it on the awkward front edge of the stove. ... show more
