  • Edit: Fixed - Fans aren't strong enough/CPU Overheating/Under powered Power Supply
I needed a computer more powerful than my laptop without having to spend loads more money. So I had to pick a desktop for that option. It totally surpasses all my expectations when editing, working, multi-tasking, etc. I would have given this PC 5 stars if that were it. However, here comes all my negatives. This PC came with a flawed keyboard and I have sent SkyTech 3 emails and I haven't gotten a solution and only one response (will be almost 3 weeks since I got this computer). I had luckily a Bluetooth keyboard but it's not good. So there goes a terrible review for customer service. Now for the rest. I have always been a console gamer but I was eager to try PC out. Turns out. It worked amazingly. I was able to get 120 fps ultra settings in Gears 5 with my 1080p 144hz monitor. However, after one or two hours of trying it out. It started to lag badly. I turned it off and slept thinking about it. I was curious about the cooling system in this and it turns out, after downloading Core Temp, this computer was hitting over 90 Celsius (recommended for AMD Ryzen CPU's not to surpass 85)! NO WONDER! I was completely destroying my CPU without knowing it!! I then downloaded Argus Monitor to manually set the fan speeds to 100% and it still was going up 90 Celsius! As any human being, I obviously tuned down the settings and where it works best without over heating and getting 83 Celsius was Medium Settings with 90 frames per second. This whole entire process of learning PC gaming took a very big tole on my CPU, hopefully I didn't do any permanent damage. So now I just bought a Noctua NH-U12A CPU fan (extra $100 I had to spend on top of everything else) hopefully this solves it. Just be careful! This PC does give out substantial numbers but the cooling system is totally unreliable. My verdict. I still haven't received an email or a new keyboard from them so that I can properly use this PC. Secondly, don't be fooled by the cooling system. RGB colors look cool but the CPU fan isn't reliable enough to play at you max computer capabilities). I average 55 Celsius with just browsing the web. Will give an update if I ever do get a response regarding the keyboard and/or the new cpu fan. Verdict: 2 Stars EDIT: After contacting customer support and further investigating. Nvidia asks as minimum for the RTX 2070 for you to have 550w of power supply. This one has 500w. So upgrading my fan wasn't an option unless I also bought a power supply. Very mad at the situation, and not receiving any emails back. I decided to get in contact with chat. After hours of waiting and further research, my Stars would go up to 4 but I will cut this PC some slack. Verdict: Even though the Power Supply is under powered on paper, as stock, this PC without adding anything (maybe RAM would still be fine) works great. My CPU problem: Customer Service told me to download CPUID HWMonitor. Which monitors your temperatures. The problem with the high CPU temp is that it one of my cores called TMPIN7 is like an outlier to the rest of my cores. That Core is around 10-20 C higher than the rest of them. Customer Service that that is pretty normal to have a funny core to the CPU and looking online, it looks like most computers have a funny outlier core that works differently. Having said that, my cores average 50C while gaming Ultra Settings 120fps on Gears 5 perfectly. Now, make to turn OFF VSync on Gears because for some reason, after 90fps, the game lags and does not look smooth. The only thing that doesn't work 100% is if I want to put "unlimited" FPS, my game sort of lags when Frame rate hits 130's. I don't really care as much but it is still strange. Anyway, all of this could have been solved if I would have known the CPUIDHWMonitor. Perfect PC for Value. Lastly, if you ever download games, for some reason my RAM capacity would go very high to where I had been to 99% RAM usage while editing on Premiere Pro and I didn't have any game playing. The solution is to go to Task Manager, then right click and End Task to the applications that you don't want running in the background. I had thought that I needed to buy more RAM. CPU Heating problem: fixed FPS on Gears 5: (120fps) Fixed RAM Capacity Usage: Fixed Power Supply: Not Fixed but Fixed because I am not running into problems (yet). ... show more

  • This is the computer you’ve always wanted!
TLDR: The computer runs like a champ, looks good, and was affordable considering similar options. I can’t recommend it enough for gaming. Side note: Skytech’s computers come with a mouse and keyboard. They’re branded with Skytech’s logo and don’t have any digital interface options. However they are rgb and very good quality. If you’re buying a Skytech computer I suggest you try the accessories before buying your own. Longer Story: I’ve wanted a nice gaming computer for a while now, and I recently decided to take the plunge and got the Archangel (RTX 2070 upgrade). Before purchasing, I found myself talking to friends about building one and like previous attempts, I became disinterested. My enjoyment for gaming doesn’t come from the build. I just wanted a good machine, that looked good, and was affordable. Good Machine - The game World of Warcraft has taken way more time from me in my life than I’d like to admit. I’ve played it periodically over the years and recently got back into WoW classic. I was playing on a potato of a computer and was frustrated with its capability even when running a game that came out almost 15 years ago. In comes the Archangel. This computer crushes every game I play on it running 140+ FPS on the highest settings. I’m still just scratching the service but I can’t express how happy I am. It’s literally what I’ve wanted since I discovered computer game when I was a teen. (31 now). I haven’t even been able to tax this thing more than 30% of its potential. As you can probably tell I’m a computer laymen, but I know what looks good and runs well. The graphic capability and processing power of this computer is awesome. WoW classic has never looked better. (Don’t judge me for buying this computer for WoW classic, I have no regrets) Looks Good - obviously looks are subjective, but still... This computer is gorgeous. The white case, the rgb lights and fan, clear glass side. It’s all very stylish and is what I would build if I spent the time actually learning the process. Is Affordable - like looks, this is subjective. This computer was beyond my original price range. But it also performs beyond what I expected. I took quite a bit of time browsing pre built computers. Skytech’s looked the nicest and appear to outperform other computers at similar price levels. I also had a few friends review the computer before I purchased. Each said based off of the build the money I would be saving by building something on my own wouldn’t be worth the time. Conclusion - like my tldr, this computer is wonderful. Performance I didn’t imagine at this price point. To me this computer was a good investment for my future in gaming. It’s powerful enough I won’t have to worry about upgrading anytime soon, but when that time comes the Archangel will be ready! ... show more

  • My day 3 review.
I am not typically one to leave a review of a product, but so far I have been very impressed with the Skytech computer. I was nervous to buy a computer from them because I had never heard of the brand name but so far I have been extremely pleased with the computer. Overall it was a great value, it shipped quickly, and arrived on time. It was very well packed for shipping (even with padding on the inside of the tower) and the computer is just very cool looking. It has a nice magnetic swing open case for easy access along with a magnetic dust vent cover over the fan area. The computer even came with a nice wired mouse and keyboard which were nicer than what I was currently using. The computer worked perfectly out of the box and is very fast and stable so far. The computer did not come installed with a ton of random bloatware so that was a nice surprise as well. If I had to be picky and call out a couple of things I didn't love, I would say that the computer tower is very large, with what looks like a lot of empty space inside. It would have been convenient if this same computer could have come in a smaller tower. Secondly the keyboard has a shiny finish on the keys and the see through back lit lettering on the keys is fairly dim which sometimes makes the keys hard to read. Again these are both very minor complaints and neither would detract from my 5 star rating. I didn't give tech support any stars but that is only because I haven't had to use it yet (which is a good thing) so I can't speak to how good or bad it is. Based on my experience so far I would certainly buy another computer from this company and I am extremely happy with the computer so far. ... show more

  • Super Quite but...
I cannot hear this computer running even when the AC in my living room is off. It can with a nice Gigabyte 2070 graphics card with a beefy heatsink. I thought for sure it was gonna sound like a jet engine taking off but it's whisper quite. A very nice touch the Manufacturer added to this computer was to install an aftermarket Coolmaster cpu cooler! was happy to see that. The first thing I had planned to do when I got it was swap out the factory cpu cooler but no need for that. The case is beautiful with a soft touch pwr switch on top. Push the button next to it a few times to set the rgb lights to match my carpet. It's got a slide off dust screen on the top and bottom to make it easy to clean. Such a nice computer. I got the GTX 2070 graphics card, that alone would cost you $500-600 right now. I couldn't have built it cheaper myself. Oh and another thing some people were saying windows used a lot of space on the hard drive? Not true. The computer I received has a 500gb SSD drive and win 10 used up 32Gb of space so there was about 460 Gigs free. Love the fact that it came with 0 bloatware. Only if I could buy a phone that way. It's also gotta nice space inside to install another SSD drive. Roomy case with 4 case fans. Just got it yesterday if I have any problems with it I'll post it here but right now I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Would buy this PC again in a heartbeat! Update: After using this computer for about a week now today I encountered a problem. I got the dreaded blue screen. I already had an idea that one, the power supply could be on the small side for the computer and two the fans are too quite which is really nice until you find out that they're not cooling the computer like they should which was the problem. After installing some software HW monitor I saw right away it was overheating. What I did was swapped the power supply for a EVGA 750w platnium psu I had in my old PC (Not sure if that was needed) But what is needed is to replace the front fan with a quality fan like the Cool Master Jetflo 120. It was a direct replacement, plugged directly into the MB(easy to replace). Makes a low humming sound but it actually BLOWS! Also if you do this (it's a low cost fix) make sure the flow is directed inward so it blows directly on the Graphics card. Take note also that I had this issue with the PC with a Geforce 2070 Graphics card made by Gigabite. I don't blame the card manufacturer it was certainly a problem with airflow in the case. I've built a couple PC's myself and I gotta tell you the fans in this pc are so quite and weak I couldn't even tell which direction the fans were blowing. The fan on the right in the pic is the one I replace. It now blow directly on the large GPU and I reversed the flow of the rear fan so it now blows out. The front fan wasn't a LED fan so it made no difference in appearance. Shame on the maker of this PC for not providing good air circulation to cool the large GPU. Definitely NOT something a consumer should have to do. ... show more

  • A good prebuilt for the price with a few fixable problems
This computer has a few cons to it that a buyer should be aware of. The largest issue by far is the storage capacity. However they are clear about this in the description and I bought it with the intention of installing an HDD for more capacity. Not mentioned in the description the case has an HDD bay inside, just take off the back of the case and it is next to the power supply unit. The other potential issue is the power supply, so far it is working fine but it is also a cheap part that I would normally spend more on and I am considering upgrading it but have not at the time of writing. To be clear, if you have the time, and the expertise to build your own computer you can build this for cheaper than buying it, however, if you are nervous about the prospect of building your own computer this is a solid option with good components that can easily be upgraded and changed to meet your needs. Maybe I should deduct a star for the cheap power supply but once again, they tell you what the unit is in the description so I don’t feel that points should be deducted for that. ... show more

  • Preeeetty good
Pros: it's nice, easy to set up, and works moderatly well. I can tell it will need a 550w power supply and new fans in a few months. It does come with a mouse and keyboard, but they're SUPER cheap and trash. In fact, they're not ecen Skytech brand. They're that brand your employer buys on dhgate for 5$ just so they'll have something for the office. I recommend buying a M/Kb set unless you don't care to have cheap. Plays Rs3 NXT, LoL, and Overwatch very clean, but does run REALLY hot playing AAA titles on ultra, so be prepared for that. Came with 2070, Ryzen 5, Asus Crossfire motherboard, 16gb ram and reset driver disk. So far so good, will edit in future on experience ... show more

  • Great performance/value.
Have had for 3 months and has run every game I have thrown at it at max settings with amazing framerates. Games I spend the most time on are : Genshin Impact Minecraft Subnautica Maneater Greedfall Dauntless Fortnite Dead Cells Dota 2 Smite League of Legends I haven't played many AAA titles with huge demands on the PC but this rig is exactly what I wanted for about how much I wanted to spend. It worked out of the box so I haven't had to call their tech support yet, so I cant really rate that. I researched a few different pre built options as well as building your own, but this turned out to be the best option for me - price and performance wize. I'll update the review if something spontaneously breaks or something but for the foreseeable future this was a great buy. ... show more

  • Beware - disappointment ahead
I was looking forward to jumping back Into the pc gaming world with this out of the box gaming rig but man was my childish excitement ruined quickly. To my complete surprise, my pc came with the ability to only use 0.54GHz. It scored 0th percentile in any benchmarks. I immediately knew something was wrong when my kids school laptop was working faster than this gaming rig. I spoke with tech support for hours the past 3 days, updated all sorts of software, bios settings, drivers for gpu cpu you name it. I was almost becoming a licensed tech support for skytech myself. But to no avail, this underclocked poorly setup pc was not going to get fixed. It breaks my heart that this experience has turned me away from pc when all I wanted to do was more than just play games. I paid that higher price tag for pre-built so that I didn't have to worry about all the small details, but when I found myself spending countless hours troubleshooting every freaking little issue just to get this thing to do basic surfing I decided enough is enough. Skytech you wasted my time and ruined the whole experience for me... And that is why you deserve this review. Your techs were half decent... If it wasn't for your crappy pc building skills ... show more
