  • Great for Engineering and Design.
Will be used by engineers and designers in the design and fabrication of electrical substations.

  • Great monitor for the price (Not really, read the updates)
UPDATE TO THE UPDATED UPDATE: It's been three years almost to the day and this monitor has apparently crapped out. At the very least I'm disappointed because other than the ozone issue and the extremely short lifespan it was a pretty good monitor. So, I guess if you're willing to spend ~$300 a year on a new monitor this might be the one for you but in the future, I'll stick to name brands. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I've had the monitor now for a few months. The Ozone smell has finally gone away which is good. I'm not sure if that was unique to my monitor or just something in the design of this monitor. I solved the speaker issue by buying a set of cheap amazon basics speakers that work great for the purpose and look good sitting on my desk. UPDATE: I'm several weeks into ownership of this monitor and it still has a very strong ozone smell when powered on. I've reached out to customer support to see if this is normal but, if it doesn't resolve soon I may have to return this monitor which is a bummer because otherwise, it's EXCELLENT. I ordered this after reading multiple positive online reviews. I've only had it for a day so, if anything changes I'll update. A few notes: The picture is gorgeous. So far, no dead pixels and it works great with both my work laptop (Dell Latitude 5420) and my home rig (Lenovo Legion). Very happy that it can handle both ends of the video card spectrum. The speakers are so-so, but I didn't expect them to be Bose quality, I use them for work meetings to avoid having to wear a headset and for that, they are perfect. Now, the not great stuff. Even though I knew the monitor stand doesn't adjust up/down, it still seems like kind of a miss on their part for a monitor in the ~$1000 range. Not the end of the world, just kind of an odd flex for an otherwise really good monitor. My one concern, and again this is day 2 so I'll update if it changes is a STRONG ozone off-gassing smell. I'm hoping it goes away soon and that it's not an indication of a problem but, if you have an enclosed office with no ventilation, this may be an issue for you. Other than that, the value proposition on this monitor seems to be really, really good and having the 5120x1440 resolution makes it so much easier to be more productive. ... show more

  • Great monitor, terrible stand, no remote
The negative reviews seem to focus on the missing remote and non-adjustable stand. But since I don't need a remote, and already planned to mount the monitor on a proper pneumatic stand, I'm very happy with this purchase. I use it for work/data analysis, not games or movies. No complaints. (But it is a little crazy that no one thought to include a proper stand/mount with such a large monitor.) ... show more

  • I like the monitor BUT!!!
I'll start with the Pros and work my way down to my complaints. There are zero dead pixels. I did the pixel test to make sure. I use this for two different computers. A PC and a Macbook. The connection to the PC works flawlessly. The picture is awesome, works with G-Sync. However on my Macbook Pro the picture is unusable. The image is all stretched out and fuzzy. I know the Macbook works perfect when using a external monitor, because this was replacing a Alienware 34" inch monitor. And on that the Macbook looked awesome. I don't know if its the monitor or the Macbook. I had to install a program that changes the settings on the Macbook so it saw the resolution that this monitor produces and that "fixed" the problem. Its no longer stretched or fuzzy. Since I use this between two different computers the monitor has to go between two different inputs. It does this automatically fine for me. I don't have both on at the same time, however when I go from one input to another I have to redo the settings. It never saves the last setting used for that input. Which brings me to my biggest complaint. The listing shows that it comes with a remote to help with settings, changing inputs, etc.. It did not come with that remote. I reached out to customer service and have gotten no response. I emailed them twice. Sept 8th and then Sept 9th. The remote, while trivial to some, in my case would be helpful. I have a couple of weeks to decide if its worth returning over this issue. The fact that the monitor can not go up or down on the provided stand was something I knew about before I purchased this. It didn't seem like a big deal, and to me its not a deal breaker per say, but it would have been a nice touch. I will update if I decide to return it and/or Monoprice response to my emails. ... show more

  • Don’t buy this for productivity or work
A good gaming monitor, very bad for productivity. The curve is too much to work with spreadsheets without warping what your seeing, and none of the Microsoft suite is equipped to handle anything at 4k resolution. If you’re still using any programs that use vba or active x, they will definitely break at any resolution higher than 2k. Even though it is objectively a nice monitor, I wouldn’t buy this unless I was exclusively gaming on it. People that make money with design work with programs like adobe premiere may have different opinions ... show more

  • Great Monitor!
I have owned this monitored for two months now. There are no dead pixels I am not using it for gaming. I am using it for productivity. I absolutely love this monitor. My only wish is it had a more aggressive curve. I mounted the monitor on a VIVO monitor arm (STAND-V101G1). This allows me to move the monitor around as needed. I researched for about a month and decided to go with this monitor. I am glad I did! ... show more

  • Good value for the money. Only remote is missing
I gut this one as a replacement for 49" Viotek. The previous gut was damaged (or so the manufacturer said) and Viotek refused to honor the warranty because they said it was damaged. Anyhow, both look and feel quite similar, including the OSD menu. A few small minuses: #1 The remote is missing (by desing), but one from Viotek works perfectly with it. #2 Viotek has adjustable heights and this one is not. Again it's not a show-stopper, but would be better if it would have it. ... show more
