  • Outstanding table saw
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
Bought this saw to replace/upgrade a 10" table top Skil saw I had for 12 years and now passing on to my son. This saw is a huge upgrade over my previous saw with a sturdy stand that sets up, folds, and moves easily and the table is at a perfect height for me who is over 6' tall. Very well built saw that stores all of the attachments for the saw and I recommend adding the rear material support bar to it which I have done. I like that the stand the saw sits on when folded up becomes an additional material support bar on the left side of the table when the saw is set up. The saw has excellent dust collection on it own, but using a shop vac makes it close to being dustless. Love the rack and pinon fence feature which is easy to set, lock, and is accurate. The saw has plenty of power and can rip a 4x4 in one pass. The saw was in perfect alignment right out of the box. You'll probably want to upgrade the factory saw blade as it is for rough carpentry work. I also got the Dado insert plate which FYI, Amazon does not sell at the time I bought this saw. ... show more

  • Excellent saw.
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
I didn’t know how bad my old saw was until I used this one for the first time. Stored, sets up and moves easily. Cuts smooth, clean ,and accurate.

  • excellent for the price
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
The power on the saw is really excellent, along with all the other features. My only problem is with the cheap miter gauge, and the really bad blade that come with the saw. My first test was with a heavy piece of 7/4 maple, which started bending the saw blade in a scary way. i checked the fence for parallel, and used a feather to make sure i wasn’t pushing it incorrectly. i then tried a 3/4 oak board which also made the blade start bending. so being fairly sure the stock blade was the problem, i replaced it with a WEN 40t blade, and had no issue cutting straight, beautiful lines through both the 3/4 and 7/4 hardwoods. the motor is really powerful for the price, but the stock blade it comes with is worthless. ... show more

  • This table saw is very well designed
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
The main reason I bought this saw was for the adjustability. You can adjust everything on this saw and fine tune it. The fence did come out of the box far from square but it was quick and easy to adjust it. This saw also has a very strong motor. It cut through red oak like it was nothing. The assembly was also super basic. I had the saw assembled in twenty minutes. I would highly recommend this saw. ... show more

  • Amazing saw with one big flaw
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
Amazing saw with one big flaw. The allen wrench that comes with the saw is slightly undersized so when you try to loosen the blade alignment screws (which are on pretty tight), you STRIP them! I actually had to send my first saw back because all 4 screws stripped and a warranty repair was going to take a month. So Amazon took it back (because the saw has a 180 day money back guarantee!!) and bought a second one armed with the experience that allowed me to use my own allen wrench with the proper size. Skil is going to lose a lot of money because of a silly QA problem. But now that I have fixed the issue with the screws, this saw is INCREDIBLE!! Super accurate, great features like rack and pinion adjustable fence. Extremely powerful motor that allowed me to rip 2x8 pressure treated (very moist) wood like butter. It cuts up to 3-5/8" high so you can rip a 2x4 on it's longest dimension. The dust shoot collects just about every bit of dust. Best of all, the stand folds up SO easily and the large wheels go over just about anything including steps. So even with my first bad experience that required me to send the first saw back, I wanted this saw so badly I took a chance and bought it again. Now that I figured out what was wrong I hope that others are avoid the same issue with stripping the screws. I found that a 5mm hex wrench did the trick. Skil, I'd love to speak to your head of QA. You ALMOST got it perfect. ... show more

  • Skil 10" portable saw is nearly perfect
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
For a jobsite table saw the Skil 10" portable saw is easily the best I have ever seen, with features I hadn't even thought to ask for. What I like: 1) structurally all-metal construction, feels solid throughout 2) the stand is amazingly smooth to fold and unfold, even Bosch's stand isn't this easy. I'm tempted to get one and modify it to my Hitachi chop-saw. 3) worm-drive saw delivers almost too much power, watch the kick-back, but it'll rip through anything 4) Giant wheels! Everybody should be studying this device because it ignores conventions and then makes every aspect better 5) cut-away sides to let the dust drop, and yet most dust still gets caught and shot out the vacuum port, which can easily be pointed at a bucket. Right Here: somebody re-invented jobsite dust collection. Who is this genius designer? 6) storage brackets so all attachments can store in that cut-away space. that's pretty convenient 7) mandatory safety stickers used mild adhesive and were easy to remove. why do I need safety instruction in French? Same for the assembly instruction; easy to remove. 8) the adjustable feet are beefy, the stand base doubles as extra table, the base has a wide stable footprint, fence has some nifty features, etc. Things I don't like a) miter fence is flimsy plastic and aluminum b) push-stick is a cheap chunk of plastic that will wear out fast and hard to manufacture on a saw Things I like 9) the plastic brackets for the miter fence and stick are bolted to the frame, and can easily be modified to hold real/upgraded ones 10) adjustable in multiple ways: fence, insert, stand, riving knife, etc. ... show more

  • Wonderful saw if you have limited storage space, or are "senior".
Style: Worm Dirve Table Saw
I love how little force is needed to convert from stored position to active position, this saw has the best cart of any saw on the market. The only issue is the ruler is not accurate, but most people measure between the blade and the stock, so it shouldn't be an issue. The fence is super accurate, love that the saw has storage for all the accessories. ... show more
