Description

12" Sliding dual bevel comp Miter saw. The product is easy to use. The product is durable. The product is manufactured in Taiwan. From the Manufacturer The Milwaukee 6955-20 12-Inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw (with Digital Miter Angle - Fine Adjust) features a miter angle fine adjust with detent override which makes it simple to dial-in precise miter angles. This allows the user to quickly adjust for a non-square environment. The fine adjust allows for single hand operation; (1) hand on material, (1) hand making fine adjustment. The miter angle fine adjust features a self zeroing system and it works on the ENTIRE miter angle range. Also features dual integral jobsite lights that fully illuminate the work piece and cut line from either side of the blade. This makes it easier for the user to see the blade enter the material. It also eliminates the hassle of buying and setting up independent lighting. These lights are especially beneficial on pre-finished millwork. The Milwaukee 6955-20 12-Inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw also features an electronic soft start that allows the carpenter to sneak up on the cut line without damaging material. The blade takes less than two seconds to get up to full speed, but that makes all the difference in ensuring a smooth start. The Milwaukee 6955-20 12-Inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw has a motor that features constant power technology which provides constant speed under load. The RPM (3,250) of the blade is the same at both no load and during loaded cutting. This ensures a quick, clean cut even in hardwood materials. The Milwaukee 6955-20 12-Inch Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw contains an integral dust channel that captures up to 75% of the dust and debris cut by capturing dust near the cut on both sides of the blade and directing it to the back of the saw. This maximizes airflow and allows waste to flow through the back elbow and into waste container. The result in the Best Dust Collection in the Industry! This saw has an oversized single lever bevel adjustment with (9) positive bevel stops which allows the saw to easily bevel left and right 0 degrees 48 degrees.

  • Awesome.
This saw is Awesome. When i received it, I really didn't realize how BEAST this saw really is. My wife and I are redoing our entire home due to crappy double wide home builder Fleetwood. This saw is really quite heavy (its a saw not a feather.) even for me to lug around by hand. I am a pretty strong guy but I ended up buying the Bosch T4B to set this on. (As a side note, The T4B is not setup to hold this saw, the head of the bolts need to sit in the saws base and that is a problem for the Bosch mounts as they are predrilled so then you cant tighten them into the mounts. I drilled them out and nutted the back side which was a real pain but well worth it not having to lug it around by hand. As a steel worker I highly suggest using a sharp bit, and drill slowly, it worked out great.) My contractor neighbor is jealous and that is cool since he is a master carpenter, he doesn't even have one this nice. And one night I was still running in and out to the back deck cutting and just used the lights on the saw to see. Never turned on the back porch light. The Blade that comes with it is awesome, it is a 60 tooth fine blade, I have a 100 tooth Dewalt in my table saw and this blade out performs it easily. (when I replace this blade I will use a Freud blade) The only issue I had was today I cut thru the right fence........in a bit of quickness I set it up and beveled to the right and as I cut it didn't dawn on me that the metal shavings was not a good thing........ so after it powered thru the corner, cutting a 1.25 inch long cut thru the aluminum it cut my crown moulding like nothing happened. It still cuts cleanly, but it is really a odd thing that the right fence isn't adjustable like the left fence. Just something to remember in the future. Sure it pissed me off, but I knew that was a problem at the start, and this time I just forgot in a rush...... I will order a replacement soon. Overall I couldn't see anything else I didn't like about this saw. It is truly a BEAST, straight and true, no issues out of the box, and even made sure it was all squared up before I made a cut just to be on the safe side. Amazon had the cheapest price, and compared to other saws I was looking at, I'm glad my wife let me spend the extra $100 to get this one. Get this and the T4B and you can't go wrong. ... show more

  • The best at any price
This is (in my opinion), the best overall sliding compound saw out there. I am a licensed contractor and have owned several saws, my last being a Makita 12" slider....I bought this saw because it can cut 6 1/2" tall base, it has a very bright light setup on both sides of blade. It isn't a Shadow line or a laser line saw, but if you have ever used a miter saw, you will know that actually bringing the blade down to your mark is still the most accurate way to cut. This saw has large diameter slide arms, has the least deflection I have seen on any saw, nice tall fences, and a nice robust depth of cut screw and flip out rest, which is better than the Bosch, the Makita, the Delta Cruzer. The dust chute is also very well designed, I just wish the company included a vacuum hookup with the saw since you have to buy this separately. Plus I was hoping this dust attachment would allow me to hood up a short piece of 2" hose to feed into a trash can, but this attachment is too restrictive to be used without a vacuum. Of course some things Milwaukee could do better are the method of locking the saw into chop only mode, which has a screw that tightens onto one of the slide bars, could this scratch the slide and cause a bearing failure? The issue with the fence slides seems to be guys who don't know that the fences only have one location where they must be before they can be separated from the sub-fence. So no you don't need to grind off anything for the fences to side and or be removable. My saw needed a miter adjustment when I got it, the saw comes with an Allen wrench for zeroing in the saw, and removal of the blade is also possible with either the Allen wrench or an open ended wrench. I call this the best at any price because even the Festool slider seems very cheaply made to me, it doesn't have the same vertical capacity or really any feature I could see making it worth over twice this Milwaukee saw price. Perhaps if all you make are picture frames it is slightly more accurate. Festool ok if your making dollhouses, but if your working on the real thing, get the Milwaukee! ... show more

  • If there were 6 stars, I would give this saw 6 stars.
This is quite possibly my favorite power tool, ever. Several years ago, I bought a solid cast iron top contractor type table saw to do accurate cutting, only to find out that, even with a good saw, you have to build or buy an accurate miter gauge to really get accurate results. I moved and needed to downsize, sold the table saw and got this. Now I'm wondering why I ever had a table saw in the first place. This cuts as good or better than my table saw did. It cost less, is easier to use, weighs less and is more portable. Plenty accurate enough for interior finish trim work. Try cutting a 45 in a 16ft 2x8 on a table saw! This saw does it with ease! I even use it to cut rebates, as it has a very nice depth adjustment screw. The one issue I had was that I noticed the blade was missing a tooth after I made several cuts. I didn't notice any significant issue with the cut quality, so I haven't done anything about it. April 2013 Update: After using the saw quite a bit, I've noticed that the saw seems to be louder and the cut is not quite what it used to be. My wild guess is that the gears are worn and it causes the blade to vibrate. Note that I literally have *hours* of run time on this saw at this point. Planning to take it to a service center and see if it can be repaired. ... show more
