Features

  • 36-INCH T-GLIDE FENCE ASSEMBLY: The 36-inch T-Glide Fence & Rail are made of heavy-gauge steel for sure lockdown and reliably square cutting for years without deflection.
  • SAWSTOP PATENTED SAFETY SYSTEM: Stops a spinning blade on contact with skin. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, and drops below the table, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch.
  • UNMATCHED QUALITY: The trunnion and arbor are built for precision, strength and stability. The gas piston elevation delivers smooth and easy adjustability. Table flatness is measured diagonally at 0. 010 maximum gap.
  • DUST COLLECTION: 99% dust collection is delivered above the table with the included dust collection blade guard, and below the table with advanced shrouding around the blade. Available Overarm Dust Collection (Model # TSA-ODC, sold separately) routes dust away from the blade and into the 4 port.
  • RELIABILITY: The Control Box houses the on-off switch, power paddle, and on-board computer, and constantly checks that all systems are working to reliably keep you safe.

  • Great Saw Flawless Delivery
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
So I saved and saved and for Christmas this year finally bought my sawstop! So irregardless of the last review my delivery went flawlessly. Amazon sent it via CEVA and it was factory pack to survive a war zone. The driver got it off his truck on a pallet with a palletjack and busted his butt to help me down the driveway and into the shop considering the snowy weather we had just gotten. Not a single thing was damaged! Assemble looked daunting but was not nearly as bad as I thought. It took two of us to lift it upright but after that I was able to completely unpack it and get it all assembled by myself in one day. All of the parts were precision made And bolted together easily without modification. The factory adjustments were almost perfect. I only had to adjust the brake cartrage to the blade, and the parallel fence to the the blade. Now from here on take into consideration that I've only had the saw for a bit, and have not done a serious project with it yet... The saw seems to be very accurate but I plan on adding a wixey digital scale to it. The saw could definitly use a outfeed table, but I don't believe the sawstop one will work with this fence. The power behind this saw is impressive to be sure, and it runs ultra smooth and quiet! I didn't recieve the mobile base at the same time as the saw and I hate that now it hast to be installed post assembly. Although possible it won't be easy. The factory blade was suprizingly good all things considered, and I think worth investing in their other blades, but I'm told their system is compatibable with Forest blades. Overall I couldn't be happier with the purchase, and with the expert delivery! I would definitly recommend this to anyone! **UPDATE** 2/19/14 So I've had the new SawStop in use for almost two months now. I bought the rockler tablesaw miter sled for it, and I'm thoroughly impressed with the accuracy of the saw. Cuts are stright and precise... Infact I find myself useing it over my compound mitersaw for crosscuts. I contacted SawStop and their outfeed table was compatible with this fence. I ordered it and do like it, but plan on redesigning it to be a flip down outfeed table that will attach to the back of the sawstop. That can't be done with their legs so I'm going to use a couple of drop leaf braces. The mobile base assemble was a two person job if your doing it after you have stood the sawstop upright. It went well but I had one bolt that the hex head tried it's best to strip. The wixey saw fence digital readout is an awsome acessory for this sawstop and installed with no drilling of the saw's rails or fence at all. Infact the only modification I had to make at all was to notch the wixey bracket that attaches to the fence, other that that I used all the SawStop bolts and the gauge works perfectly. I actually haven't had to change blades yet, and am still impressed by it's quality. I bought two more SawStop brand blades, and a forrest box jointing blade set because it's typically more precise than a stacked dado. Very happy though with the purchase and enjoying useing it to work in the shop! ... show more

  • Very positive so far!
Style: W/ 36" T-Glide Fence
Beautiful saw! Have it set up and fine-tuned at this point, but have completed only a few small projects using it. The 3HP is heavy, so a helper while moving it, along with a furniture dolly, is almost required. The process of assembling was a good experience, as the owner’s manuals and organized parts are the best I’ve ever seen. I mean, this is really an expensive machine, but I’ve no trouble understanding why serious woodworkers invest in it. The quality of all parts is plainly obvious, and the near lack of need to adjust anything while assembling (or after) is surprising. Advice? I purchased a PCS mobile base, but then decided to raise the working height of the saw from 34 inches to 36. Putting it on two-inch blocks negates any further use of the base. But since I’ve never had to move my previous saw, I wish I’d thought this through a bit more. If anything, this now-useless base might add to the value of a resale (though that’s not in future plans). I still am unsure if the black extension table comes with a protective plastic film that should be removed. Videos I’ve seen affirm this, and SS Tech support says they believe it does. If there is a film sheet, I can’t see it easily and can’t seem to find a corner to begin removal. One SS owner says the 36 setup does NOT have the film sheet, whereas the 52 inch setup does. I hooked up the saw blade guard to my Festool C26 HEPA vacuum, and the four-inch exhaust port to my main shop dust extraction system. For years I’ve only used a riving knife on a TS, but now want to try getting used to a guard as well. BTW, the guard and HEPA do a nice job with additional top-of-table sawdust. I also purchased two additional OEM blade throat inserts from SS. Didn’t particularly care for the Infinity ZCI throat plate with replaceable inserts. Finally, the prep for the saw meant I had to wire a 220 circuit in my shop. This was a first for me, but since I have a sub panel there, this was simple. I do look forward to a pleasant future with this saw. The safety features will increase peace of mind. That said, it’s good advice for all woodworkers to stay vigilant, as kickback and other potential safety issues are not to be ignored on any any TS. ... show more

  • How much are your fingers worth?
Style: W/ 52" T-Glide Fence
How much are your fingers worth? That's what my buddy told me when I ask the price of his new Sawstop. I did the research and Sawstops are priced the same as the other high quality saws. I admit, I once accidentally stuck my hand in a table saw (not Sawstop). 7 stiches and a larger ER bill. Just takes a second of not being in the moment. I love my Sawstop, worth the price. Cuts like a dream, great dust collection, good accessories, and high quality. Best instructions I've seen. CONS: Wet wood can set off blade (use bypass). If set off, it needs a new cartridge ($60) and blade ($60+). Needs separate cartridge for Dado blade. Over all great saw. Feel better woodworking with my kids and wife with the safety feature. It's worth the piece of mind. Update Jan 2017, Just over a year of use: Was cutting through some walnut and the safety system went off and dropped the blade and stopped it. Not wet, no fingers, not sure why it tripped. Called Sawstop and they had great customer service. Sent the cartrige to Sawstop to be tested. They lost it. Not so happy. But, they sent me a new cartrige for free. So out a blade. The blade was not badly damaged, only lost 3 carbide teeth. I figure I can get 3 new teeth put on when I send out my blades to be sharpened, a $1 per tooth. Still love the saw, working great. Always wonder if I cut through metal on accident if it will set off the safety system. Got a small metal detector to check all the wood for screws and nails. Cut through a metal staple the other day and it did not trip the safety system. So thats good to know. Don't know if I just got lucky. Glad I purchased the saw, will keep it for the rest of my life. ... show more
