The 3 lbs one is perfect for my 18 month old who weighs 26 lbs. Her daycare requested a weighted blanket to help with her nap time. I did a lot of research and it is not advised to use weighted blankets for under two years old. I did read, however, that the weight should be no more than 10% of child weight. My toddler is very strong and big for her age and can carry heavy grocery bags by herself and so I determined that a little 3lb blanket would be okay. And it is very great for her naps. She does wake up a lot in the middle of the night, but she would probably wake up more without it. It is beautiful and the space pattern could also be unisex. She likes it a lot and we bought two.

Got for my 38 pound daughter. Perfect. Love that it's all cotton, except the beads and a little fiber fill. You might think you want a velvetys, soft, fuzzy weighted blanket. We had those...too warm with a weighted blanket, would that help you sleep? This one breathes! High quality stitching and seams. Will be getting more for other daughter and myself! This is a well-made blanket. It's an amazon purchase I feel good about. (If you buy a lot on Amazon, you know what I mean)

I had long suspected that my son would sleep better with a weighted blanket, but he is such a hot sleeper that I didn’t know how we’d make it work. During the summer he normally sleeps with just a sheet so that he doesn’t get overheated. We solved this by putting an ice pack in bed with him. He lays on the ice pack (it’s a nice gel pack with a fabric cover) and then we cover him with a sheet and the weighted blanket, and then a comforter if needed. In the morning we pop the ice pack in the freezer and we’re ready for bedtime! It does help him fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Occasionally we forget to bring it when we travel and then it takes him more than an hour to fall asleep. Sometimes we use it while reading books before bed and just resting during the bed. I purchased this when my son was 6 and 52 lbs. I chose the 7 lb blanket based on his preference and expected growth.

I got this for my 6 year old son who has a hard time winding down at night and going to sleep. I will say that it is effective, and when he does have it on him, he calms down and falls asleep much faster! I got the 7 lb one for him, just because we wanted the bigger size, even though based on the recommendations he should need a 5 lb one (he's 49 lbs). However, the 7 lb works great for him, it doesn't seem to be too heavy or anything. I specifically gave this one a try after combing through endless options and reviews because a lot of folks said it was a bit cooler than some. My kiddo runs way hot at night so this was my biggest concern. He does still get hot under it, and I worry that come summer it will be a problem, but it's probably still one of the cooler options. I'm not sure a weighted blanket exists that wouldn't make him hot! The fabric does have a very nice cool touch to it, and is very soft. I recommend it!

The design is perfect with so many opportunities for language input/output with the addition of it providing needed sensory input! Bought for 7.5 yr old. Was afraid he wouldn't like too much weight so I got the 7 lb to start with. It covers him, but if he rolls over or moves much it too easily no longer covers him completely. Only used it for about a week & haven't noticed much difference in his sleep, but... he's on ASD spectrum & foster son who's only been back with me 6 months (after several years away) & is new to sleeping in a room by himself. So it may take some time as he continues to adjust. Blanket seems well made, just wish the material was a bit softer feeling. Also, a cover for it would be ideal, but it says it's washable. It also has little loops sewn into it....with no mention (that I could find) of what they are there for.
