For SH-15 tripod feet conversion: Turn the feet counter-clockwise to move up toward the leg section for converting to the stainless steel spikes. Had used a friend's SH-25 tripod and knew it was a good deal for $199 as it is pretty solid and holds a heavy camera and lens. Many features. Downside may be that it is a little bulky, but it comes with a case and is pretty easy to transport.

This is probably a good tripod for 95% of video uses. It's strong and stable. It can go high over the heads of crowds. Pan and tilt are mostly smooth. There's even a pan friction adjustment, not usually found on tripods in this price range. Still, I returned it. I do most of my shooting with the long zoom (3000mm+) of a Nikon P1000. At full telephoto I need to make pan adjustments of a fraction of a degree, e.g. to follow a bird on water or in a faraway tree. The head does not permit that. I move the head to a new position, and it springs back halfway to the old position. With these very fine pan adjustments the head is sticky and jerky. Adjusting the pan friction control does not improve it. See the video. The tilt is OK, but the pan is essential and this stickiness is not acceptable. Sirui tech support in New Jersey was very responsive and helpful, and offered to look at the head if I shipped it to them at my own expense. I declined to pay the shipping, so the tripod is going back to amazon. As I said, this item is probably very good for average uses, but not for very long zoom. ... show more

I'd give it a higher rating if the head could pan smoothly. I found tightening up the tension provides that ability, but it is then very difficult to maintain steady especially if the tripod is on a wheeled dolly.

This tripod has issues with its panning hardware. The action feels pitted or sticky in spots making a smooth pan too inconsistent for any kind of professional application.
