So far so good! Attached to a LUMIX S1ii (the LUMIX also has the exact 1.6x setting for the lens). The potential this anamorphic lens will bring to my arsenal is something I’m looking forward to. I like the build, it feels very high quality at an affordable price. Update on 3-17-26 I had no idea…. When you get the manual focus dialed in, the scene comes alive. Complete cinematics! I’m very happy with this purchase and will be looking to purchase the 35 or 50mm next.

So this lens is super light, super sharp, and super easy to use. It does not have a ton of “character” for an anamorphic but it’s a great lens. I am returning mine because it was assembled upside down and it’s just…yeah.

Very happy with the performance of this lens. I wanted to experiment with anamorphic lens as a photography tool for cinematic wide screen photos. For this purpose it’s been absolutely fabulous and a great value for the stupid cheap money compared to high end lenses. I have experienced very. Minimal vignetting with this lens on my L mount Leica and it’s plenty sharp enough. It is not a very “characterful” lens compared to the likes of Light Lens Lab recreations spherical lenses or the Blazar lenses. But it serves a very good middle ground and a great way to experiment and see if you’d like to dive further into Anamorphic. Highly recommend for exploring new types of photography.

Things to consider: it's a manual-focus lens, which takes a while to get used to, but it will ultimately make you a better photographer. You'd want to invest in a diopter due to its rather long minimal focal range. Bottom line: get this if you love the anamorphic (filmic) look. There's nothing quite like it at this price point.

Quality build. And light. I knew there would be pincushion distortion. But on subjects closer-up with the 35mm length, the distortion was as much as two thirds of the frame. Had to send it back.

This has been a fantastic lens and has wonderful character! It's a wonderful full frame anamorphic lenses and you cannot beat the value you get for the price. Anamorphic lenses are typically a lot more expensive than this one! It has a cinematic feel to it. As far as sharpness, it's high which many wouldn't think to be good for cine-glass however it is threaded so you can just slap a diffusion filter or black mist filter and it's perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this lens!

oct 4 , 2025 update : two ways too Edit to De-squeeze the video. 1. The Bad way: transform the x-axis , increasing x-axis , then the render may out put 1920 x 1016 ( most unusual ) 2. the accurate way: Blackmagic Davinci Resolve . Right click the clip in the Media Pool , and choose Clip Attributes . look for Pixel Aspect Ratio. look for Custom. type in the digit box , 1.6 and Save. End update oct 4, 2025 tested with green and red LED light source. there is some pincushion at the far left right ends of view . because of the wide view, f5.6 seems to keep the left right extremeties in focus, at MFD at about 3 feet recorded a circle . seems 1.5x de-squeeze looks best. 17:9 •1.5 = 2.8 aspect when i de-squeeze at 1.6 , everything is a bit too wide and squished. whatever hits the cmos is still the same . 3:2 • 1.5 = 2.25 i like 2.8 better , 17:9 • 1.5 = 2.8 17:9 recording gives 27:9 result ,... 3:1 16:9 recording gives 25:9 result,... 2.8:1 result 3:2 recording gives 21:9 result,... 2.4:1
