    • Had to buy from another source after they misdelvered
ORdered from different source. They misdelivered, canceled order and were slow in refunding. However refund came after delay. Ordered from other source and this is their delivery. Seems a bit thinner than cable bike lock but should deter twelve year old KIABoyz thief. At least I hope so.

I drive a 2014 Ford F150 Supercrew and it is a popular truck thieves like to steal. I park my truck in the driveway, and have security cameras and leave lights on and have a dog. Even so, that does not make my vehicle less of a target. So, this product was intriguing and if it works would be an extra security measure, so I ordered the product. The lock’s security cable is thick and strong, and would take some time with appropriate tools, longer than your typical auto theft, 10 minutes or less. I think it would take at least 10 minutes to cut with the right tools. Afterall, if it is manmade, it can be destroyed. But I am not disappointed by the thickness of the wire cabling inside. Next the seatbelt attachment is quite large and it must be to fit entirely over the seatbelt attachment of the vehicle. It fit the Ford F150 perfectly on both front seats, easily attached, and was easily removed once I understood how to appropriately attach it. The lock comes with (3) removeable sleeves (red, yellow, & black). I installed yellow which you would easily see through the factory tint during daylight or nightlight. I intended to place the red cover to blend in with the red theme for my truck, but left the yellow because I like the idea of a visible deterrent. All sleeves look like they will hold up to their intended use if take care of. The security lock itself was easy to wrap through the lower part of the steering wheel fold it through itself and then lock it to the truck’s seatbelt attachment. There is a positive click as well to let you know it is secured in place. Once attached and locked in place, even if the vehicle’s steering was not locked so that the steering wheel could be rotated, a person would only be able to turn the steering wheel probably 6”-8” (at least for my vehicle/setup). A thief would not be able to drive far before having a collision, completely stopping, or abandoning the vehicle. The security lock comes with (3) keys. They are a bit bulky, and a bit larger than even my factory Ford key, so that is a negative for me as it adds bulk to my minimalistic key ring. But I attached it anyway. Additional keys can be handed out, stashed in the vehicle, or safely kept as a backup at the house. So (3) keys is perfect for me in case I ever find myself without the key. Other than size, no complaints about the key. It takes a bit of getting used to, to not immediately turn on my vehicle when I first get into the driver seat. Because now, I must unlock the safety lock before I can turn the ignition (can’t remove the key/key ring once key is inserted). Anyway, minor change and it takes about 15 seconds if I was in a super hurry to unlock, remove from the steering wheel, and get the ignition key inserted. So, it will cause some sort of delay regardless of operator and your specific routine. I have been either storing it when not in use by attaching to the passenger side seat belt attachment, as I usually do not have a front seat passenger or will just place in the seat. It would easily fit inside most glove compartments or consoles if not filled up and could be easily stored underneath the driver’s seat as an option. As a pup owner, I take my dog anywhere I can running errands. If pets are allowed, I will take her inside with me. If not, and it is for a short duration, then I leave her in the truck. In the winter, no big deal because she has plenty of blankets and residual heat from the heater. During the Summer months with outside temps of 100, I must leave the truck running for the A/C. My truck will run for 15 minutes on remote start without a key and shuts off and if anyone attempts to drive off without a key then it shuts down. I am always concerned though someone will try to steal it since it may look like an easy target with the vehicle unoccupied and engine running. By utilizing this steering wheel lock greatly adds to lowering my safety concerns for my dog with a visible deterrent if targeted by a dirtball. Overall, I really think this is a great, appropriately priced product that adds additional security to my vehicle and I would highly recommend this type of lock over the bulky clubs. The clubs while effective, are just too bulky and cumbersome to deploy, remove, and stow for most people in my opinion; however, they are usually a stronger design to defeat. So, I picked something I believed I would use, so this steering wheel lock offers more usability to me with the convenience factor (again IMO) that I would routinely use. ... show more

Like so many I have one of those cars that is easy to hack with a phone. While this wheel lock won't stop a determined thief, I am hoping it will be more than enough to stop an opportunistic joy rider. The lock is heavier than what I expected, and the encased braided cord is really quite thick. The lock is as easy to use as the description implies. You simply push it into the seat belt card until it clicks. Unfastening it is as easy as turning the key while pushing slightly. It removes in seconds and can be stored under the passenger seat, in a map pocket, or in the glove compartment. If you have enough space, you can put in the armrest console. My one complaint is with the thickness of the keys. While they are of a nice size to make them easy to hold and easy to find, I had trouble finding a key chain that fit. Most of the split rings I have are too stiff to stretch far enough to accommodate the key while most of my carabiners were too thick to fit. It would be nice if each key came with its own split ring so they could be added to a key chain more easily. ... show more

This works easily and is pretty easy to store, since it's a flexible material. I also like that it's a bright color, since that helps serve as a deterrent. The only thing that's kind of annoying is how big the keys are - it's not something I really want to carry around on my keychain, because the key is pretty bulky.     • A Good Deterrent If You Attach it!
The media could not be loaded. This is my second Model JB-308, but this one comes with additional colored sleeves. I like the brighter sleeves, but even more vibrant would be better like the banding on a coral snake. I want the thief to see that my steering wheel is locked before he breaks the window; perhaps he will move on to someone else's car. Of course, it's only a deterrent. I'm sure you can cut through it with the right cable cutters. That's likely not it's greatest weakness, however. That would be failure to attach it. It takes less than 30 seconds to attach it though, so that's pretty good I think. It doesn't take up much storage space either. I fear that one day it will malfunction and I won't be able to get it off. That would be an issue with any steering wheel lock, though. The first time it even looks at me sideways when I'm trying to remove it will be that last time that I use it. ... show more
