  • Singer can do better-Adding an edit
Style: M3330 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
I have had Singer products for years as my mother did before me, so I was anxious to get this product. There is no manual and the one piece of paper guide was not very helpful. I had a terrible time getting this to work. The front loading bobbin was not a big problem as such, but that it constantly jams is. The machine is finicky, to say the least. I actually had to go to YouTube for information since the Singer site was not as helpful as I wanted it to be. I finally had to call the local Singer repair shop for help and they told me the side loading bobbin has some known issues. I am on the 5th bobbin which is finally working and the machine sews ok. But overall I am very disappointed with this purchase. The product was close to $200 and the minimum on repair is $100. Amazon only allows 30 days for a return. I wonder why. I'm adding on here about 1 month later. The machine seems to have worked out all its kinks-or I got better-and now works beautifully. No problem with any of the bobbins I am using and I have completed 5 projects without a hitch. I am totally converted to really liking this machine. It is what I expected from a Singer product. ... show more

  • great machine!
Style: M3300 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
I've been sewing for 60 years. I've had several different brands of machines. I've never needed anything fancy, just a simple, smooth running machine is all I want and this one is just that. I just got it, so can't know yet how it will last, but it sews great, very smooth and quiet. Super easy to thread. So far I just love it! This would be a great machine for both a beginner and experienced seamstress. The one step button hole is awesome! ... show more

  • Better then the last
Style: M1500 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
I was handed down my mother sewing machine that she got in the 80’s. I grown up using this sewing machine and nothing would come out straight or even. And 5 out 10 time the needle would slam down and bend. Think this was my fault I avoid sewing all together. But after doing some research and realizing it might be the machine. Decided to get a new one and I came across this sewing machine. After only 5 mins I confirmed it was the machine! I have had this sewing machine 2 months and made 2 set of curtains, fixed a few clothing items, and currently work on a blanket. The machine runs smoothly and is easy to set up. My only complaint is when the thread goes from the spool to the tensioner it goes around a little hook. It falls off constantly and I have to rethread the machine every time. This might be a me issue but that is my only complaint. The nice part is I am not fighting the machine to make a straight line. I can just guide the material where I need it to go. I recommend this machine for anyone new to sewing and would like a good and light machine. ... show more

  • Not for a beginner
Style: M1500 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
Before you even touch anything on this machine after unboxing it, go to Singer.com and watch the tutorial on how to operate it! When I opened the bottom to thread it the metal ring with clips that holds the parts in so you can safely remove the bobbin holder was not clipped in and the entire piece fell out. Luckily they have a great short video on how to thread and operate all the functions on it and I was able to put it back together correctly. Having said that, while I'm not a pro seamstress, I do know how to operate a sewing machine and I can tell you that a beginner would not be able to just set this up and sew without watching the tutorial. You're definitely going to have to put forth an effort to learn how to thread it and all of it's functions if you're not familiar with a sewing machine because the instructions are confusing and not very helpful even for someone with experience. It jams very easily as well. It is definitely light weight though and the foot pedal is a dream come true. I'm happy with it for the price. ... show more

  • Total Beginner!!
Style: M3500 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
Yup I'm a total beginner!! I have sewn before but 38 years ago. So!! I was looking for a easy, basic sewing machine that was was easy to thread. That's my issue, the threading of the machine. This machine comes with picture instructions. No problem threading until the last step, my machine has to be hand threaded even though this machine comes with a hook threader that didnt work. But after about 15 minutes, I realized I could just hand thread the needle and all is well!! So far I love this simple, easy machine. ... show more

  • Love this!
Style: M1500 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
My granddauhters gphave learned to sew on this machine and have become little seamstresses. Its truly amazing to see their progress. After a year of using there was a small repair required but overall the price and value of this machine was well worth it.

  • poor quality
Style: M2100 Pattern Name: Sewing Machine
The media could not be loaded. When the machine arrived I tested it to see if it was good on a simple fabric. when I tried to sew a dress, when putting the fabric on, the needle constantly jams. I wrote to the technical service and this is what they answered me: I am sorry you are having difficulties with your machine. First be sure the tension is at 4 and you are using all purpose thread and the correct bobbins (the ones that came with the machine). Heavy duty thread will not work in the bobbin with this model. When you are threading the machine, hold the thread between your hands (with the presser foot up) and keep the thread tight as you go into the tension unit (the u turn before going up to the take up lever). What could be happening is the thread is popping out of the tension unit and if you will be sure when you thread it that the thread going into the tension unit (the u turn before going to the take up lever) then it might take care of the problem you are having. Another thing might be to use poly/cotton thread. Sometimes a 100% polyester thread will not work as well and you may have issues with that. SO YOU BUY A MACHINE WITH 9 POSITIONS ANN YOU CAN ONLY USE IN THE NUMBER 4! AND YOU CAN ONLY USE A KIND OF THREAD!!!!!!! Don't buy!! ... show more
