The quality definitely matches the price, but it’s a great kit for beginners! - 2 fabric pencils - 10 hand needles - 100 dressmakers pins - 11 spools of polyester thread (very small, probably best for repairs) - Tape measure (60in/152cm) - Pin cushion - Needle threader - Thimble - Seam ripper - Seam gauge - Fabric scissors I forgot to take a photo of the 10 hand needles before I added them to my other ones, but they’re very small and thin so I’m pretty sure they’re all different sizes of sharps. ... show more

    • Exactly what I needed for small sewing project
I don't do big sewing projects, but small things. I hem my own pants, fix buttons, mend ripped seams on my children's clothing, and other similar projects. When the trolls came and swiped my previous repair kit (Singer Sewing Kit in Storage Box) - it must have been the trolls, because I just used it a month ago and now it's gone - I set out to find a replacement. At the time I was shopping, an exact replacement of my previous kit was almost twice as much as this Beginners Sewing Kit. With a lot more pieces included, I thought I'd give this one a try. And it's perfect. Unlike the small toy-like scissors that come with other kits, these actually work. They're still not in the same class as my Fiskars scissors, but they are sharp and get the job done, with clean edges on the thread. You get several needles, unlike the three that come in the smaller, more expensive Singer kit, and it's a nice variety of thread colors. I agree with other reviewers that it's an annoyance that there's no storage container included, but I have several small containers that I'll put the pieces in to keep it from getting a mess. No big deal. No, it's not a fantastic kit to start elaborate sewing projects, but if all you need is small amounts of thread, some needles, and a few tools to complete very small projects, I think this is perfect. ... show more

    • Perfect for small household repairs
My wife and I were looking for a simple (and affordable) sewing kit. Mainly we were looking for good hand sewing needles since my wife also repairs our dog's toys. Everything included has been extremely useful. It does not come with a case, but my wife uses an old makeup bag and everything fits perfectly. The thread is not as strong as we were hoping it would be. It tends to break easily. Other than that, this is great for a small householdin need of some quick repairs. ... show more

    • Perfect for what I need
This Singer Beginner’s Sewing Kit includes two fabric marking pencils, hand needles, thimble, sewing gauge, needle threader, tomato pin cushion, eleven mini spools of thread, a tape measure, fabric scissors, seam ripper, and dressmaker pins. Full disclosure: while I know how to do it, I am not a big sewer. I sew to finish off crochet projects, sew on buttons, hem clothes – I am never going to sew an outfit or make a quilt. So, for someone like me this is a perfect beginner’s sewing kit but it may not be for others who are more serious about sewing than I am. I really bought this kit for certain bits and pieces – namely the needle threader and seam ripper – and I wasn’t disappointed. Some parts are a bit flimsy – the scissors and seam ripper (they don’t make seam rippers like they used to!) and the pin cushion is on the small side – but in general this kit fits my needs which are admittedly small. If you are looking for a kit for major sewing projects, this Singer Beginner’s Sewing Kit probably isn’t for you, but if your needs are small like mine, you will love this sewing kit! ... show more

    • The kit is a great beginners kit
So I'm giving this 3 stars. I would give it 4 stars if it weren't for the problem I had (and fixed) with Amazon. I know I often complain about people who leave feedback based on the shipping, but since I ordered and received from Amazon directly, I figured it counts. The kit is a great beginners kit. The scissors aren't very good, but they'll work for cutting basic fabric and what not. The thread is REALLY cheap and bleh. Buy an extra thing of thread or head down to your local craft/fabric store. Just trust me. Also, buy this kit IN a store. Seriously. When I got mine, the packaging SUCKED and it had obviously been a hurt item. The sewing needles were missing. A huge bonus is that these do come in different colors. My son and I are sharing said kit, and while he doesn't mind super pink things, I was glad everything came in red. ... show more

    • Great starter kit for someone new to sewing!
I bought this as a gift to go with a few other items I was gifting a tween girl that has just discovered sewing. It has all of the essentials. I wasn't impressed with the presentation, so I did open up the package and placed all of the items in a nice, sturdy, magnetic gift box (purchased from Michaels) with some material and two simple sew-easy patterns.     • The Perfect 130 Piece Beginner's Sewing Kit from Singer
My nephew, the last baby in his generation, is going off to college this fall to major in science and technology. We are all so proud of him, but he was having a hard time coming up with all of the items on his supply list and I wanted to help him out, so I purchased this 130 Piece Beginner’s Sewing Kit from seller, Singer. This sewing kit contains everything my nephew might need to make repairs to his clothing in his dorm room. It comes with a pin cushion, tape measure, needle threader, marking pencils, sewing gauge, seam ripper, thimble, 8-inch bent trimmer scissors (which were also on the list so yay!), polyester thread in many different colors, sewing needles and straight pins. All of these items fit in a reusable storage box that measures 8 inches by 7 inches by 1 inch. It’s a nice size and if my nephew needs to replace a button or sew up a seam he has everything he needs to repair his clothing and get back to his studies.
