I unscrewed the screws on the top part, very easy but should not have to. Surprisingly, the top part that screws into the top pole is correct. The wires that are on the inside are made to hold the screw in place while screwing it into the top of the pole. It was so simple to fix. NO HELP AT ALL FROM THE SELLER!! Hope the pictures help. Giving 4 stars now cause My daughter loves the lamp, but 1 less star because we had to do our own troubleshooting. ... show more

i love this lamp. I bought it to replace the exact same lamp from about 10 years ago that was crumling. The plastic just didn't last as long as the rest of the lamp. But it gives off so much light that it's just great.
