This awesome appliance is great for our extensive camping trips. We consume a lot of ice and this machine kicks out enough ice that we have enough for our water and the extra we place in a freezer bag to use it later. You just add water its that simple to use,

I purchased this Silonn ice maker less than a year ago, and it stopped working in early October. Customer service agreed to send a replacement on October 14, confirmed my address on October 28, but as of November 6, I still haven’t received a tracking number or any delivery update. The ice maker worked well before it broke, but the warranty and replacement process has been frustratingly slow and unclear. I’ve been polite and patient through multiple emails, but the responses keep saying they’re “monitoring the shipment” without providing any real progress. What’s also disappointing is that four friends of mine purchased the same model, and all four units stopped working within the first year. They’ve since switched to other brands, but I wanted to give Silonn a chance to make things right. I’ll update this review if the replacement ever arrives, but for now, I can’t recommend this product based on my experience and the repeated issues among multiple buyers. UPDATE_ Nov. 14. The replacement ice maker arrived and is working great. I appreciate that the company followed through, and I'm updating this review to reflect that the issue was resolved. Thanks!

Bought this for my wife since she prefers this style of ice. Its fairly quit and doesnt take up much space. We use distilled water in it and top off the water everytime she uses the ice. Very happy with this and we've had it for almost a yr with no issues

Original review: I just got home and opened this and am SO disappointed at the color. I paid EXTRA and waited LONGER for shipment only to find that it's NOT silver stainless steel. It's enough of a tint of aqua / blue that I thought it had a blue film on it but it's not - it's the color of the appliance. UPDATE: It IS a blue film - but it's so integrated that you would never know it. The company has now updated their product description on Amazon to explain that it is a protective film that must be peeled off. I have not taken it off yet as I'm still testing the product. So far it's a nice device but a little loud for me - not the sound of ice dropping but the whirring of the fan. With all the fans and air conditioners running in this heat it blends in - but once the season changes it will be running louder than my fridge. I will note a few things that others have posted: 1) the first batch of ice is 'weak' as the compressor has to come to temperature. 2) you DO need to remove the ice rather quickly and get it to your freezer and it IS quite wet which makes it clump together once in the colder temps of the freezer. To fix this I'm storing ice in a large Ziploc bag which I can bang on the counter easily to break it up as I add batches. 3) it was nice to leave it for a nap and wake up to a bunch of ice but if you left it too long it would just melt and regenerate. 4) I don't know if I could stand it running 24 hours a day but one person mentioned that helps the machine last longer. I would love to know what customer support says on that there's nothing in the booklet about it. 5) you do need to keep it pulled away from side and back walls - there are fans on both sides and an air Intake on the back. Keep this in mind. 6) the plug in the bottom (for draining during cleaning) is a little flimsy and feels like cheap plastic that could easily break. It's awkward blindly twisting it back in as you can't see what you're doing - and hoping you secured it before pouring more water in. 3 stars with it's limitations, watery ice and whirring sound that I wish were quieter. Wish they insulated the top just a little more to keep the ice from melting longer. But overall nice little machine. Will update rating and post if anything noteworthy changes... 8/7/24 Great size. Smaller footprint, lighter weight and quieter fan than the 'upgraded one'. Adorable little machine. Hope it lasts.

Makes “soft” ice like you’d get at sonic or in the crushed ice section of a fountain drink. The first round always tends to take longer than the rest but once it gets going it does well. Cleaning is simple. I do it after every 3 uses. It’s not loud enough to cause a disturbance of any kind but I’m not sure I’d label it as “quiet” you can hear the fan going but you don’t have to talk over it or turn the tv up louder. If you’re looking for quality soft ice that isn’t overly expensive, this is for you.
