This does produce ice pretty quick. But the size of the small cube is bigger than eexpected. It's so big I thought it was the large cube. If you are wanting that old school ice you need to purchase a machine that makes nuggets. You'll pay more but at least you won't be disappointed

First, and most important, this makes the most amazing ice! It is so crunchable, and when I put it in my water I find that I drink much more water. I’ll go through cups faster and so that is a perk on its own. Cleaning it up originally, I wish there was a way to clean out the area where the ice is actually made. The ice doesn’t really freeze solid enough to be able to dump the first few batches of ice and feel like you have a cleaner ice maker. The ice is constantly melting in the bucket, with the water dropping down and being recycled into more ice. I tried to get some in a bag to stick in the freezer. It worked, except that the ice is so wet that it melts together in a bag. Maybe if you want to keep it in the freezer, put the ice pebbles a bit spread out on a cookie tray, and once they’re more solidly frozen you can put them in a bag. The ice that is frozen in a bag will still be just as amazing when you put it in your drink later, and you don’t have to go through all the process of clearing out the water and draining it. After each use it says to drain the water into the sink through a hole in the bottom. I found that taking a large cup, and just moving the ice maker a bit off the edge of the counter to pour it in, was an easier option. That might not work if you have a bunch of water in there though. Bottom line is, great ice. And if you make enough to save for a bit, you won’t have to keep cleaning it and running it every day.

We really love this ice machine. It made ice quickly. My only complaint is I wish the compartment to hold the ice was bigger so it could hold more ice. Luckily it makes the ice so quick it's never really empty.

I was skeptical at first of the claimed speed of this ice maker, but once I tested it out, I was very impressed at how quickly I could get nuggets of ice. When I first received the ice maker, I noted that it does have some heft to it, but thankfully, it has a small footprint. It is about the size of an office trash can or small desktop computer tower. While I am not sure how vital the 24-hour settling period is for the coolant, I abided by the instruction to leave the device sitting for one day before using it. Once that period passed, I filled up the reservoir with water, plugged in the maker, and hit the button on front. The fan churns up and is noticeable. Basically, it is about as loud as a quiet stove range fan, give or take. In addition, the maker does create some quiet grinding and clacking type noises, similar to the noises you would hear from a refrigerator ice maker. Overall though, it was not exceedingly loud. After hitting the start button, in under 10 minutes, but a little more than 6 minutes, I started getting little nuggets of ice. They were about the size of a large chiclet of gum. I scooped some into a cup, poured in some soda, and enjoyed. Each nugget is easily crushed with teeth. It is a lot more similar to the ice you get at some fountain machines - not shaved or crushed like you get from a refrigerator, but more like actual delicate nuggets. On first use, I let it run a bit more than the 10 minutes to see, and across 30 minutes, little nuggets kept being produced, even without a full reservoir, allowing me to have 3 cups of soda with a good amount of fresh ice in each. The real benefit is due to the reservoir, you can use this anywhere you can reach a 3-prong electrical plug. No plumbing needed. This is a great ice maker. Highly recommended.

We have had this set up for a couple days now and we just adore it. The ice is amazing! Once we received the unit, we unpacked it and let it sit on the counter unmoved for 24hours like it instructs. It was hard because we were so excited to have “sonic ice”! We cleaned the ice basket and scoop and wiped out the inside of the ice make, filled it to the max line and replaced the basket. Then we plugged it in and turned it on… maybe 6 minutes later ice started coming out. It was ridiculous how we were all waiting, watching the ice come out. I mean, come on… it’s ice! 😂🤷🏻♂️. We love how attractive this unit is. It is large, but it fits on our counter well. We love the super simple interface with color coded instructions. We love that we don’t have to plumb the thing! That would have made it so we couldn’t have it as we rent. We love how fast it is and that the front of the lid is clear so you can see the ice coming out. The cute little suction cup scoop holder is a nice touch. The unit does have a loudish fan, so getting used to that is a thing. This is a function of the ice makers in general and not this unit. My friend has a different brand and hers is actually louder. So far this is a dream and we wonder how we lived without the ice it makes (first world problems for sure). Of course we don’t know the long term and will update if our experience changes. Highly recommend so far!

There are several things you need to know before purchasing this product. 1. Read instructions before use. (There's a 24 hour setup period before use). 2. The device does not keep the ice frozen. You'll have to package the ice to keep it. Otherwise this machine makes the perfect size of ice. Definitely worth every penny!
