  • Money well spent! Money well spent!
Color: Black-transparent Size: 36lbs
I love this ice maker! Ive never owned an ice maker so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am beyond happy with my purchase. I got home late this evening from work and it was on the porch in the upright position. I did not see that its supposed to be upright for 24 hours before plugging it in until after I had it plugged in and making ice. Im hoping that didnt harm it, but its been making ice for a couple of hours and everything seems fine. It's started off kind of slow, a piece of ice here, a piece of ice there... but once it got going it really pumped out the ice. I used the scoop to move the ice around in the basket a couple of times because it will get backed up before the basket is full. It stops with a green light to let you know the basket is full. I pushed some ice around and it started producing more almost immediately. I saw a few reviews that complained about the noise, but im not finding it any louder than a fridge or deep freezer. I took a video but not sure how accurate the noise level is with my phones microphone. Its really not worth waisting anymore time talking about it other than to say dont sleep with it and you should be fine. I got this because Im a fan of ice water and energy drinks poured over ice (There's a 4th of July Monster that is so good over ice!). I also like to chew a bit of ice with each sip. This thing makes the perfect ice for it. Its like Taco Bell or Sonic... even the ice they use for patients in hospitals.. its perfect ice. Pros: Its an ice maker that makes perfect chewable ice and it doesn't break the bank to buy one. Cons: Really, the only con I can think of after a couple hours of use is its not a freezer. So the ice it makes has to be used or tossed, otherwise the ice will melt, drain into the reservoir and be remade. I imagine this would put a lot of strain on the ice maker and burn it out before its time. Plus, the ice would start tasting funky. I highly recommend to anyone that likes ice and likes to chew it. ... show more

  • Works fine
Color: Black Size: 26lbs
Bought this to replace a Magic Chef ice maker that made the same amount of ice. That one lasted for a little over 2 years so looking forward to seeing how long this one will last. The overall size is a tad bit smaller than our old one. That is both good and bad. This one is a bit shallower where the ice collection basket sits. So far the only down side I’ve found is that when scooping ice from a full basket, it tends to push a cube or two back 8 to the drop chute. This is a small problem, not worth worrying too much about. It makes ice quickly, is relatively quiet and works pretty much like every other version of this variety. It only has 1 size setting for cube size but it makes the larger size cubes. I never used the small size on my other one. I also like the fact that you can get to the freezing apparatus a bit easier for cleaning when needed. Overall it’s a nice little ice maker. TIPS: when using this type of ice maker, fully expect the ice to melt slowly. The ice basket is NOT refrigerated. It sits over an ice bath that will chill after it’s been running for an hour or so. When you first turn it on, the ice cubes it makes will be very small as the water chills. Each successive batch that drops, about every 7 minutes or so, will get bigger as the water bath chills. I recommend dumping the first 3 or 4 drops of ice, back into the water reservoir. This will speed up the water chilling and make bigger ice cubes faster. ... show more

  • Great value! Lasts years with heavy use!
Color: Black Size: 26lbs
We bought this in October of 2023, and it is now June of 2026, and it is still working perfectly! We go through a lot of ice, so this runs for a few hours daily! Incredible value for the price! Very easy to use and to clean.

  • Great Value
Color: Black Size: 26lbs
After two years and two months of daily use, through two summers in the Deep South at a house with a pool, with guests for all the usual holidays AND including a full year as the sole ice maker for an adult couple...the fan quit. For about the last month it had been giving indications that something wasn’t normal. After 44 years of marriage, pattern recognition becomes a finely honed survival skill, so when a machine in the kitchen starts acting up you tend to notice it. This past Sunday afternoon I was dozing on the sofa ignoring the TV when this ice maker made a unique noise that woke me up. I can’t describe the actual noise it made (I was dreaming, I swear it shouted something at me) but it was weird enough that I went to check on it. The ice in the bin had melted, the back of the unit felt hot, and the fan wasn’t running. I quickly unplugged the machine without paying attention to the status lights (so unfortunately I don’t know what was displayed) and positioned a small desk fan blowing into the rear vent to cool it down. After 30 minutes I re-powered the unit and it started making ice again, except the exhaust fan was dead. I unplugged and drained it, then removed the rear cover (five screws on the bottom) and used the external fan for cooling to verify the ice maker still worked otherwise, which it did. The fan would start if I gave it an assist, but would not run full speed and would not restart on its own. After several hours I was confident a new fan would fix it. Exact replacement fans are plentiful and inexpensive here on everyone’s favorite home shopping site, just search for the part number printed on the fan motor. For $17 a new fan arrived overnight. Removing the fan from the radiator is super easy (two obvious screws) however unplugging the fan from the controller board and fishing the power wire out with plug intact is extremely difficult. The controller board is mounted inside a plastic box, and getting the cover off the box without full disassembly requires a lot of cussing, needle nosed pliers, and at least one skinned knuckle. Once the controller cover is off, the fan’s power plug had a glob of hot glue covering it and the socket, and the wire was tie-wrapped in a spot that I couldn’t even see at first. The manufacturer doesn’t intend for you to remove this, and if you’re not careful you’ll break the socket off the board or something else. There's lots of wires all bundled together, easy to mess up. If I were to do this again I’d simply cut the wires to the old fan, careful to leave as much length as possible, and splice in the new fan using small wire nuts, or solder and shrink wrap if you prefer. Be sure to clean the dust from the backside/inlet side of the radiator (internal, facing the compressor) using a soft bristle toothbrush. Mine was completely blocked by dust, which is what caused the fan to fail in the first place. This unit does not have an air filter, so if you live in a dusty environment and/or have pets you probably need to open it up and clean the radiator once a year. Before you put the cover back on, blow the whole thing out with compressed air or a leaf blower. As to cleaning the actual ice making “wet” section of this model, I use a hand held steam gun with a flexible nozzle about three times a year and it keeps it clean as new inside. No need for running vinegar through it, it’s not like a coffee pot and doesn’t develop calcium deposits. I use a mild bleach solution for running the built in cleaning cycle while blasting the top out with the steam gun, then thoroughly rinse out the whole thing using the sink hand sprayer. The mold/slime that will develop in the top of the unit comes from exposure to room air. Like most ice makers I’ve ever owned, it’s difficult if not impossible to access the actual ice tray section to hand clean it. AND every ice maker I’ve ever owned will develop mold wherever it’s regularly exposed to room temperature air, so the complaints I’ve read about this unit are not unique to this unit. If your refrigerator has an ice & water dispenser in the door, I discourage you from looking at it too closely with a flashlight or you’ll stop using it. Anyway, the unit has been cleaned and reassembled and making ice again like it was new. While this particular machine has not been subjected to vibration like it might be in a motor home, or rough handling from potable use, it has run for over two (2) years continuously, sometimes needing multiple tank refills per day. I subtract one star for being moderately difficult to repair, but I’d give it 10 stars if I could for being a great value for the money. ... show more

  • I don’t have to buy ice anymore!!!!
Color: Black-transparent Size: 36lbs
After replacing my refrigerator’s ice maker unit several times, I decided it was time to invest in a countertop unit for my daily iced coffee habit. Setup was quick and easy, and the machine immediately began producing beautiful, chewable nugget ice. Since I live in a warmer climate, it took about 7–8 minutes for the first batch of ice to begin forming, just as advertised. Once the unit was chilly, subsequent batches were produced much faster. On the second day, I experimented by filling the reservoir with a chilled 32-ounce water bottle—the perfect amount for the tank. To my surprise, ice production started in just 3 minutes! I now keep a couple of chilled filtered water bottles in my fridge for speedy ice batches. Because of the warmer temperatures where I live, some melting occurs after a full production cycle of about 80–90 minutes. To avoid that, I simply set a timer and transfer the ice to a freezer container every 30 minutes or so. The convenient drain plug on the bottom makes it easy to remove any remaining water when I’m finished using the machine. Overall, this Silonn Nugget Ice Maker has performed exactly as promised and has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. For anyone who loves nugget ice, it’s been a great investment. ... show more

  • A Lean Mean Ice Making Machine!
Color: Stainless Steel-PRO Size: 36lbs
I love my new Silonn Nugget Ice Maker! I got it a couple of months ago and purposely waited a few months before reviewing it. This ice maker did not disappoint at all! As soon as I cleaned it and plugged it in, it went to work spitting out ice. It works well and the ice is perfect for drinks or chewing (iykyk). It's just as good as the ice you get from sonic (similar to hospital ice) but better because I now have an unlimited supply! I literally leave this thing on all day and night and it hasn't skipped a beat. I fill it up when I leave for work and there's always a bucket full of ice waiting for me when I get home. I use spring or distilled water in my machine and I run the cleaning feature at least once every two weeks. I haven't had any problems with it to date. The machine is not completely silent but it also isn't noisy. It doesn't take up too much counter space (I have a small kitchen with limited counter space so that was importantly for me) and it comes with a scooper and a hook for the scooper. The ONLY con I can think of (if we can really consider this a con) is that the suction cup that holds the hook onto the machine sometimes fails and lets the scooper fall off of the machine. But I can't even really count that as a con because it doesn't affect how the machine works at all! If you're in the market for an ice maker for your family this is the one! It easily provides ice for my family of 3. The ice that it makes is great and the machine looks good. ... show more

  • The Ice Melts too fast The Ice Melts too fast
Color: Black Size: 26lbs
*** UPDATE 9/26/2025 *** Ice maker is still working fine with the exception of a few new whiny noises. I wanted to add you might want to get a bigger icemaker, as the ice from this machine comes out wet, and if you scoop it into a drink it melts within minutes. Even for just me, and my seemingly unquenchable thirst, this little machine can just barely keep up and I need to supplement my ice bucket with ice from the freezer. Knowing this now, I would not buy this machine but a bigger one that makes bigger cubes even if it takes longer. The bullet shape of this ice just melts too fast. *** UPDATE THREE MONTHS LATER 8-15-2025 *** Yesterday I found out how important the cleaning is. It runs for about 20 minutes, taking the water from the reservoir and flushing it through the pipes. If you don't clean regular, it's going to stop working. I add 1/4 of mouthwash because it has alcohol in it and it really dissolves the gunk that builds up without being poisonous. Yes, there is gunk in every municipal water source. One cycle is enough, then fresh water and start. This keeps the pump clear of impurities that slow it down and possibly burn out the motor. ========================================= First review after seven days new: This is a great ice machine, but not perfect. I was expecting bigger cubes for the big size (there are two settings, small and large). The description is right, you can get about eight cubes in nine minutes, but they quickly melt. A full basket takes about 30 minutes, and when put into a pitcher of room-temp water, it melts in about 15 minutes, and the next batch of ice takes another 30 minutes to refill. The only problem with that is that the ice pusher thingy puts new ice on top of old ice so that it forms about a 45-degree angle and shuts off before the basket is about 3.4 full. To get a full basket, after 25 minutes you have to push the last issue of ice back towards the front to make room to fill the basket. It's a cute little thing, and I will say very quiet operation. yes, I would buy this again, but I would not recommend it for parties or families of four or more as the little guy just cannot keep up. The "large" ice cube is the same size as one of those Hershey's chocolate Easter eggs. The first picture shows a full basket of ice, about 50 minutes to make after the shuffle. Second photo shows the actual size of the large ice cubes, and the last photo shows ice cubes that this machine makes, above that, a medium ice cube from the green-bottom trays here on Amazon, and the large ice cube at the top is a regular sized ice cube like the ones in your freezer ice cube tray (typically 14 cubes). But to be fair, this little Ice machine could not make such large cubes as the top one in only six minutes. So, on really hot days I have to augment my water pitcher with ice from my freezer, where I have 56 cubes at the ready, and those take two hours to refreeze. So again, this machine works well, is very quiet, and makes enough ice to keep one or two drinks cold. The water goes into the reservoir up to the bottom of the basket. Then the basket goes on top of the water, of which the machine quickly draws to make a new batch of ice, about four cups total in 30 minutes. You can let the ice sit there as long as you want, but it will melt back into water, where the machine will just continually go through a ice-water-ice-water perpetual cycle. If you let the finished ice sit there for more than an hour, be warned, it will all come out in one big clump so watch your drinks. The clump does break apart easily, though. Draws very little power, about 175 watts. I keep mine on the kitchen counter behind the dining table. It comes with a cute little scoop, too. Again, very happy with this purchase and yes, I would buy it again. ... show more
