I have had this icemaker since September 2022. I am very happy with it and so thrilled that I no longer have to go buy bags of ice. And if I fill the ice bucket that I keep in my freezer with ice from that machine, I don’t have to make ice again for quite a while. But I decided it was probably better to keep using the ice machine on a regular basis. So every day or every other day I go ahead and run one batch of ice by filling it with water to the fill line. When it’s finished making ice out of that water, I put it on standby. And depending on how fast I use that ice I may not make ice the next day. But I probably run it every other day because you just pour the water in it and walk away. Pretty simple to use. Like I said, I think it’s probably better to run it pretty often rather than let it sit for a longer period of time. I will fill my ice bucket if I am expecting company so that I don’t run out of ice. But the great thing is if you do run out of ice, you pour water in it in and in about six minutes it makes a batch of nine cubes and in about 35 minutes it makes a basket full of ice. So you can have more ice really fast if you need it. One thing that might be a little deceiving and they don’t really address it in the description of it. You need to empty the ice basket as soon as it gets full and put it in the freezer immediately. This machine is not a freezer or even really a refrigerator. it makes the ice and dumps it into the basket, but it will melt if you don’t empty the basket and put it in your freezer. Probably works on the same idea as even the large icemakers that you see in restaurants. It’s just a bin full of ice, and if left there for too long, it will melt. so as soon as it stops making ice you need to dump that ice into a bucket in your freezer. Like I said, it’s a great little machine and I love it. My refrigerator never had an icemaker in it.

Dummy me thought it was the same size as the Igloo (good unit, but only lasted a year) ice maker I was replacing. Wrong. This ice maker is perfect for one person (the bin holds just enough ice to fill up an empty 32 oz cup to the brim) and thankfully I am only one person. The storage tank which holds the water is also too small for my taste. I use it downstairs so I don't have to go upstairs to the fridge for ice. The design could use some help as it's prone to spill ice when one gets it from the ice maker. Overall, it's a good little ice maker.

For what it is used for…. Great!!! Ice melts quickly in the machine. You need to be quick to transfer it to the freezer if you plan on stockpiling. And then it freezes together. But to use as ice is made for drinks… PERFECT! It is medium quite. Nothing I can’t live with. Once the basket is full… it turns off. And the melting goes back into the reservoir. (Great feature there!! Kudos to the makers there)

Really wanted to love this ice maker. I buy a 20lb bag of ice once a week, and was hoping that with this ice maker, I could say goodbye to bagged ice from the quickie mart. After following all the directions and letting the ice maker sit upright for a minimum of 24 hours, running several tap water cycles through it and then using bottled water, I was seriously disappointed. The machine does produce (9) 3/4" bullet shaped pellets every 7-8 minutes on the large setting. I started producing ice at approximately 9 am and by 4pm I barely had a quarter of a 20lb bag filled. This was actually only accomplished because I was working on installing cabinets in the kitchen. Every time the ice hopper filled I immediately emptied the bin and put the cubes into the freezer. If I had not been home to empty the hopper, it would have taken days to make even that amount. So I was diligent and got the ice emptied from the hopper almost immediately but even doing that, the ice that the machine made was quite wet and once placed into the freezer, it clumped up pretty fast. This ice machine does not keep the ice cold so it is imperative that once the hopper is full, you empty it. If you don't the cubes will just melt and drain back into the reservoir to make more ice again. If you are not standing right there working on cabinets when the hopper gets full, you will most likely not be able to optimize the ice making cycles. If you go through ice like we do, this machine is just not going to cut it. The ad claims to be able to make 26 lbs of ice per day and that might be an accurate figure but your time and effort is not included in that calculation. You literally have to be there when the hopper and water reservoir need attention or else there is no way you will be able to get 26lbs in a day. The ice that was made seemed to have a metallic taste even though I used bottled water and ran several cycles . For a casual ice user this unit might be ok but for heavy ice users like my wife and I, it just does not cut it. Good luck with your ice maker search.
