This made making my own sourdough bread so much easier! I had been struggling with strips of parchment paper to lift the bread out of the Dutch oven because they get brittle from the heat. This made it so much easier. Easy to grab with pot holders and just lift bread out. And nothing sticks to it. I keep it rolled up in parchment paper between uses to keep it clean. I did figure out that you should roll it with face down so the ends don't flop into dutch oven when you use it. Just rinse off in hot water to clean. The size is perfect for my 7 qt Dutch oven, and would probably work for a smaller one too. The quality is excellent, and made of the same material as the silicone baking mats.

I love this bread mat for sourdough! Wow, it so much easier than using parchment paper. I stopped using my dutch oven for baking bread and now just use a lodge skillet combo cooker and it's so much easier. The sling "handles" are a bit long but it doesn't seem to matter. It still works really well. It's a bit small/not quite the right shape for batards so I may get another one, although I'm on the fence since it works well enough. Very happy with my purchase and wish I had gotten one sooner!!

When they first arrived, I was worried they were too small, and I was annoyed because the measurements are not provided in the description, but they do work with the loaf size Im making. They are sturdy and perform well.

I bought these silicone slings because they were recommended on an online sourdough group that I belong to. Normally I just free bake on a baking stone, but my mom gifted me a clay bread baker with a glazed interior and the sourdough stuck so hard that I had to soak it off, so when I saw people talking about these, I decided to give them a try. It did keep it from sticking, but it created a little pucker in the bread where the sling creased on the edge of the baker because it was slightly wider than the perimeter of the pan. That was the only negative if you are looking for a perfectly round bread - you’ll need to measure your baker. On the other hand, they exactly fit the bottom of my Le Crueset glazed cast iron bread baker. My method is to let the dough rise in the brotform, then drape the silicone sling over the top of the basket and invert it directly into the baker. Then I score the top of the dough and do any decorative cuts. Into the oven it goes, and after 20 minutes with the lid on, I take the lid off and let it bake for another 20 minutes. The ears on the sling are great for picking it up out of the hot pan, and the bread slides off easily. A quick wipe with a soapy cloth and it’s clean. It’s a lot easier than using parchment in a pan and for the cost, it is well worth the purchase. I’m very happy with them.

The Silicone Bread Sling Dutch Oven - Best Japan Silicone. Non-Stick & Easy Clean Reusable Silicone Bread Baking Mat. Extra Long Handles are well made and a quality product. My only complaint is the size of the bread area; it doesn't accommodate the large loaf-sized sourdough that I make. The dough was over the mat which made the transfer difficult. That is my only issue with this product. The handles are long, the silicone has a good thickness, and the quality is good. As itches have stated - the handles are warm when you take the bread out of the oven, so take care using them. Cleaning them is a breeze, I just used warm soapy water, rinsed, and hung them on a towel rack to dry. They were good as new the next morning. If you bake smaller loaves this sling should be great for your needs.
