I needed a twin bed for my office/guest room and I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a mattress since it will rarely be used. I ordered the Signature Sleep Essential 6" EuroTop Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Hybrid Mattress, Twin. It arrived in a mangled box that was missing part of the lid and was taped over so I was a bit afraid at what I might find when I opened the mattress. Luckily, the mattress was double shrink wrapped in plastic and was intact. I found the mattress to be a bit heavier than I expected, which isn't a bad thing. There were NO instructions so I assumed it was like other mattress in a box that I have ordered in the past. I carefully cut the outer wrapper and then the thicker inner shrink wrap. As soon as I cut it the mattress literally started springing to life and making popping sounds. Within 30 minutes it was at full 6" expansion although I left it on the floor and unwrapped for several days before putting it on the bed. There is no odor to the mattress even upon first opening it. The mattress is made in India. The corners seem to be a bit bent out of shape and the gel topper isn't very thick. When I laid on the mattress while it was on the floor I could feel every spring. Fortunately, when I put it on a platform bed, without a box spring the mattress is much more comfortable. If someone was going to use this bed on a daily basis I would recommend that they not weigh more than 150 pounds or they might be able to feel the springs. Would be a good bed for a child.
