One may wonder why a stand like this is necessary for your iPhone, iPad or similar Android products. Simply, I think charging your device does one a huge disservice if it is lying flat on a table. You need to have your device on a stand so its screen can visibly be seen. How else are you going to see alerts that appear on the screen when its lying flat on a table? There was no doubt in my mind that I needed a stand to raise my iPhone and iPad to eye level. After searching many such stands, I was intrigued by the positive reviews that the iKsee Smartphone and tablet stand had received. For just under $10, I thought it was worth taking a chance in purchasing. If I didn't like it, I could always return it to Amazon. Upon arrival, I was very pleased to find a very well built product inside the box. The first thing you notice when removing this product from its packaging tray is that it has some heft to it. That's important because it needs to support a heavy tablet or phone. Another good indication of build quality was the tight pull of the hinges when expanding this stand into its upright position. That ultimately means that this will not give way when faced with a heavy object being placed upon it. I have attached a few photos here to show you how well this stand actually works. I placed both my iPhone X (in its Apple folio case) and a 9.5" Apple iPad Pro on the stand. The stand easily was able to support both, although I had to tilt the stand more forward for the iPad, as it was flipping backward due to it being slightly unbalanced. A simple adjustment on the stand solves that problem. Since the stand has an open architecture, you can feed your charging cable through it to your device. The best thing about this stand is that it's portable. Simply fold it up and throw it into your backpack or suitcase for travel. It takes up practically no room at all. That means when I go to a hotel, I have an instant nightstand to display my device -- especially if I want to turn it into an alarm clock. For the price, which was just under $10 at the time of this review, I can't believe the quality of the product I have received. This exceeded my expectations as I had thought I would be getting something I would end up returning. To think that I could get this kind of quality for the price is just amazing to me. It's very handy and will continue to be so for years to come. Can't recommend this more highly!

Creating jewelry, cross-stitch, even "diamond (rhinestone) 5 d paintings" (super fun, just a color by numbers hobby of gluing rhinestones on pre-printed canvas, but very small, detailed) requires the ability to zoom WAY in AND adequately LIGHT the area I'm working on. I've had the lamp for years, but a few years ago, the base just snapped in half. I had it semi-propped up with cardboard, but the lack of the stability of the "improv" base was very "touchy", I really couldn't position the lamp where I needed it. After years of searching hardware stores, even IKEA, i finally found this METAL version. Let me tell you, it's solid--and now for probably the first time ever, I'm able to adjust and LOCK in the light/magnifying lens in EXACTLY whatever position I need it to be in. Saved me $80 by not having to buy an entirely NEW lamp (likely with a plastic base??). Great deal.

For my Nintendo switch and phone this stand is great. It's got some weight to it but not too heavy allowing it not to fall over easily. It's rather small and compact making it very easy to travel with. It's also very easy to adjust as well. While though stand can hold a 10 inch tablet I wouldn't recommend it. It works but it's not not wide enough to fully support it properly and adjusting the stand with the tablet on it is rather awkward and cumbersome since the stand is so small and the table is much larger. I don't dock it any points for that as that was not my intented use for this stand.

Pros: - $15 - Holds a 12.9-inch iPad, works as intended - Nice style aspects - Folds and comes with a carry bag Cons: - It is not ‘square’ when a 12.9” iPad is mounted onto it. It has a mildly bothersome lean of about two degrees making it look tacky. - The 12.9” iPad Pro is the upper design limit and needs to be carefully balanced against the folding joints to avoid tipping or collapsing. - I don’t see how the friction joints can be easily tightened as they age. This could become an issue quickly with the heavier, larger iPad. I have a keyboard dock that doesn’t ‘dock’ my 12.9-inch iPad Pro well so I bought two stands to position the tablet above the keyboard; one that folds (this ‘Phone Stand...’) and, for use at home, one that doesn’t fold. The folding unit holds the large iPad well enough; however, the folding joints are really at their design limit. Pulling off one of the decorative caps showed a joint made of nylon and a steel pin. I suspect the nylon will last a year or so before it can no longer hold up the iPad, depending how many times the stand is folded. Seems wasteful that a hexhead bolt wasn’t used so one could adjust or repair the joint. (The base could have passively locked by designing the joint to rotate 290-degrees to a stop, reducing the number of friction joints that can fail.) Finally, my tablet has a ‘lean’ of about two degrees when on the stand. It was fairly trivial to fix by bending one of the fingers that hold the iPad. I don’t mind because I figure $15 didn’t offer much room for QC and rework.

I purchased one of those swivel desk lamps that had a cheaply made bottom a while ago. Well, the way I have to have it on my desk is quite odd and the base inevitably broke in many places. I use this light everyday and rely on the base to allow me to move the lamp around without having to worry about it breaking or coming loose. After searching everywhere for a replacement I stumbled on this one. I am so incredibly happy with this piece! It is sturdy and doesn't come loose at all! There's a part you can tighten to hold the bottom of your light in tighter. I will definitely buy this base again, if nothing else just to have a backup! LOVE IT!
