I had to undergo several surgeries and rented a few lift recliners from Rent-A-Center over the years. I should have bought this chair a while ago and saved a lot of money in the process. Either way, it's an excellent chair for recovering from surgery. The seat is wide and allows you to sleep in it with your arms by your side. It's not made of sticky leather and is breathable. It's not too soft, so you won't fall into it. However, it's also not too firm, which would make sitting in it for longer periods uncomfortable. The headrest reclines very far allowing you to sleep in it. It also has a massage and heat feature. I just used the heat feature for the first time, and it's a godsend for pain. I have an incision near my buttocks and the heat really helps alleviate the pain. It's also affordable. I tried several chairs at Art Van that were much more expensive and didn't come close in quality. You could get a crappy La-Z-Boy for 2,000+ or this for only 550$ on Amazon. As an added perk, prime offers 2-day shipping. It's also cheaper here than in-store at Ashley's Furniture. Go to your local retailer and test it out. PRODUCT REVIEW 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE I've had this recliner officially 2 years now and for me, it's been a lifesaver! I developed MS and physically debilitated. Sleeping in my bed was too painful. I have been sleeping every night in this recliner. PROS: Easy to assemble Battery backup incase of power outage Comfortable Plush Warmth feature Massage features Recliner angle Lift feature Very sturdy Easy to clean CONS: Not easy to assemble if you are not used to doing so. amazon delivered right onto front porch, we brought it in through the 34” doorway with plenty of room. Great lift recliner, firm yet comfortable back support. Lift feature is why we got it, but the heat and steady/ pulse/ wave massage are added bonuses. When lowering the lift back down, it is steady, don’t feel like I’m going to fall. Purchased this for my BF's mother who is recuperating from ankle surgery and has bilateral shoulder problems. This chair makes it really easy for her to get in and out of, and it's so comfortable that she takes naps in it during the afternoons, because the reclined position doesn't cause pressure on her shoulders. The assembly was very easy and the product appears well made. She's used the recliner for a couple months without any problems, but I'm not sure she's used the massage and heat functions yet. I purchased this chair from Amazon on Sept 30 for my 86 year old mother who has severe arthritis. The chair was delivered on time Oct 10 and I paid for in home set up. My mother loved the chair and said it was comfortable. BUT here is the problem.......After only a few weeks of use my mother was reclining in the chair and heard and felt a pop in the back of the chair. Now the chair will not allow her to sit up and elevate her legs. If she elevates her legs the back of the chair falls backwards! I have spent days and hours trying to get customer support to no avail! I went to ashleyfurniture.com to inquire about the warranty. When I finally reached someone, they told me since I had purchased the chair from amazon they could not help me. They said I would need to get in touch with amazon. Well, I have tried this and the only contact number amazon gives me is ashley furniture customer service. I took a lot of time doing this as mentioned above and they told me to contact amazon! I paid $650.00 for this chair. Now I have no recourse except to buy another chair because I can't get customer support from amazon OR ashley furniture. BUYERS BEWARE! If you purchase a large ticket item on amazon and the product breaks after the amazon return time you may just be stuck with a broken expensive product like me. ... show more

    • The massage feature is weak and motors are noisey.
Did not get the relief that I was expecting from the massage feature and it is very loud. Gets louder when I shift my weight. Something appears to be loose inside the chair causing it to get loud.

The best powerlift chair you will find for this price. It only took 2 days to deliver from Amazon Prime. I bought it for my Senior Citizen Father. He loves it. I tried it out as well and I might purchase another for myself. Power recliner Good. Heat not overly hot. Massage even on low is pretty good. I got lucky that I picked this one after hours and hours of looking around online. Sturdy Chair. Very soft Fabric. Not to firm or to Squishy seating. Well made IMO.
