I got this chair today. It arrived quickly and new out of the box. The delivery man brought it in, and helped me put the back on. I am sure I could have did it by myself. The chair rocks with ease. The arms are wide and full, and the chair is big enough for me and my 17lb terrier to sit in. It reclines very easily, just by lifting the lever on the side. So far my own dislike is that it is a bit hard to push the lever down when you want to go out of the recline position. I have to press with my legs, and use the handle at the same time. When the chair is in the reclining position the cushion part of the arms don't stay with you, so there is kind of a gap there where your elbow would be, if that makes sense. So far, so good. I have always purchased Ashley furniture, so I wasn't afraid to buy this chair. If anything goes wrong, I will come back and revise my review. FYI: I am 5'2 and the chair feels comfortable, although I can't actually put my feet flat on the floor, but that is okay, I can still rock just fine, and usually I am in a recline position or I pull my legs up into the chair and curl up. The head rest doesn't push my head forward as do some larger chairs such as this. ... show more

Delivery was bad. They don't know what the arrows mean when they point a certain way. It was delivered on its sidealso is made cheap They used split wood for a brace in back. You feel like you are falling out of your chair when you are not laying back and when you are laying back or reclining your feet hang off the foot rest and I am only 5ft 6 inches. First when I went to order this the Amazon site said it couldn't ship to me. This has to be some site glitch because I tried 10 different zip codes and it said the same thing. A week later the site mysteriously let me order it. You have to arrange delivery with a freight company and they pick different dates than the ones you pick on Amazon. Delivery times have been nuts and are normally weeks out. The first one that came in squeaked a lot especially while rocking and made loud internal thunking noises that I'm sure the next apartment could hear. Amazon was willing to send a replacement so I opted for that. Delay after delay the shipping company called 10 mins before coming on a different date then selected and I was out of town and they dropped it off on the sidewalk before a rainstorm and obviously didn't pick up the one that was in my house. Thankfully my neighbors picked it up and brought it inside. This second one was completely broken. The springs were all bent (even though the box looked fineish) and the chair would hit the floor when rocking. I then had to arrange another pickup which was weeks out. Dealing with XPO was a nightmare the phone maze and third world call center is terrible. The employees didn't understand the difference between a drop-off and a pickup and I could never be sure if it was correct. They have had to reschedule deliveries and pickups multiple times. So Amazon let me order another replacement since the second was broken. This resulted in two more freight companies scheduling me 3 weeks out. One for pickup and one for delivery (you ideally should be home for all this and thankfully I work from home). The third chair seems to be the best so far. Only slight creaking on the left side while rocking. All of them seem somewhat cheap. The fabric is thin stapled on and the whole thing kind of creaks. The back part on the bottom seems to stick out far, while the head support is back more than I would like. This is somewhat not comfortable for the head but livable. On the second chair some broken plastic fell out underneath. All in all Amazon had this chair for a pretty decent price. I'm not going to expect $1,000 chair quality from a sub $400 chair made in Vietnam. The freight experience is all up to the providers and XPO is one of the worst companies to deal with. I am still waiting for XPO to come pick up the second chair as they missed their scheduled apointment time and now want to reschedule for three weeks out. The third chair still makes creaking noises when rocking but at least it's not making thinking noises. At this point I would assume they all creak. ... show more

Ordered 5/22 arrived 6/15. Frustrating. Delivery man was awesome, set up was easy. Chair is amazing. Fully reclines, comfortable, color description accurate. Seat bottom (cushion) is firm. Would rather that than so soft it could risk sinking too quickly. Added photo of my legs extending over footrest. I’m nearly 5’ 7”. My feet extend over but, for my taste, the length is perfect! What it is not? A chair for small spaces. Needs room to extend and not hit wall; forward to extend footrest, and width to provide roomy comfort without feeling squished into the seat and the surrounding area. Great purchase! Would buy again.
