I bought this chair for my wife who has MS. She loves it. The ease of assembly, dual motors, infinite positions, color, fabric, functionality, reliability, comfort, battery back up, and quiet operation were great features. But, I thought we had bought a dud after a month or two of use. I received a call at work. She was stuck in the chair and the motors would not work at all. The chair and motors turned out to be fine. Our small dog had been messing around behind the chair and had accidentally disconnected the wire between the chair and the power supply, which held the backup batteries. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: There are important things to understand about how the motors get power. The power to the motors from the wall is not just one wire. It has three connection points - the grounded, three-pronged wall plug, the connection between the gounded cord and the power supply, and a pigtail between the power supply and a wire that is attached to the motors. 1. There is a detachable grounded cord that must be plugged into both the wall and the power supply. If it is unplugged at the wall or at the transformer, the battery back up will normally still work; BUT 2. You put the backup batteries (two nine-volt transistor radio batteries) in the power supply itself. 3. The transformer has a permanently affixed pigtail wire with an easily unplugged connector that connects to a wire that connects to the motors attached to the chair If this connection is unplugged, it will prevent any power, even from the back up batteries installed in the power supply, from reaching the motors. If this plug were to be disconnected, the chair will remain in the position that it was in when it was unplugged and will not budge. 4. FINALLY, even if all three connections are firmly plugged in and the batteries are brand new and correctly installed, the chair may still not work, because the wire from the third connection between the transformer and the motors has a very small, easily-overlooked switch, that if turned off, cuts off all power to the motors, even from the batteries. The dog seems to have stepped on the switch, too. There is also a plug in the side pouch where the remote attaches that could also stop the chair from working if not plugged in. I'm sure there's some safety reason that there are so many ways to disconnect the power. I admit that I was very frustrated at first trying to figure out why the chair no longer worked, especially since it was supposed to work on batteries. My wife pulled out the instructions we had stored in the side pocket, read them to me, and all was well. :-) IT'S A GREAT CHAIR! You may want to consider protecting the connection between the power supply and the motors and putting something around the switch to keep it from being turned off accidentally. Hopefully, in doing so, you will not create a safety issue.

Fantastic chair! The fabric looks a lot like leather, but its cloth. It's not trying to be a fake leather, just a cloth material that looks like it - not the fake cheap looking pseudoleather. The chair fabric is awesome and super soft and well made. You do not slip on it like you do leather. The chairlifts much higher than the pics show. You can EASILY stand out of the chair once it lifts you up. Anyone will be very, very happy with how this function works. The backrest and feet also work independently from each other. You can have the feet all the way up and the back straight up. You can also have the fee all the way down with the backrest all the way down. It's really nice to be able to control them individually. The chair is firm but extremely comfortable. It's not like a cloud where you "sink" in, but you feel very supported. The chair is far from hard. Saying its firm can make you think hard, but it's more supportive yet extremely comfortable. You will not be sorry. The chair is for my grandpa who is 5' 10" and 250lb and he fits in the chair perfectly with tons of extra room. The remote also is very easy to work for someone who is older. Long cable. Easy use. The chair comes in a big box, in two pieces. The back just slides onto the bottom part and is very easy to put together. Will take 15 minutes to get it up and running. Overall - this chair would be 2,000 at the store. Its extremely nice looking, very comfortable, easy to use, great features, QUIET motor, and all around great purchase. I would EASILY recommend this chair and would buy it again. I have pretty high expectations for things and judge them hard, but this chair hit it out of the park! You will not be sorry with this!

Too good to be true. No free lunch. You betcha. I'm 6', 300 pounds. Don't judge. This showed up today as Amazon swore it would. My wife is tiny so I'm thinking UPS or whoever was kind enough to schlep the one 3'x3'x3' box onto the porch for her. Thanks anonymous person wearing shorts in October. Box had a couple of travel scars. It was definitely cardboard punching above its weight but no damage to the chair. Prominently displayed on the top of the box was a no box cutter logo. Methinks the manufacturer has little to no faith in the consumer's ability to operate machinery in the presence of the chair. I was not deterred. A little surgical tape slitting and voila, she is exposed. Grandson, invert this box and slide the box off the contents. Good, now put aside the loosely shipped back and side bolsters. Good, now you take front, I'll take back and let us away up the stairs. Manageable for two even up a flight. Assembly, maybe two minutes without cracking the directions. The aforementioned back and bolsters slip fit, no tools. Then locate the plug on the chair bottom for the transformer brick where goest the batteries. Bummer, 2 9v batteries not provided but required for the wonderful battery back up function. I'm resigned to trusting Eversource for now. Still, I should have seen that coming. One more trick attaching the remote to it's cord hidden in the "magazine pocket". Do this bit out in the open. It's fiddly. So four button remote. Leg rest up and leg rest down Back recline and back return. Hold leg rest down after it is fully down and the chair does its up for easy exit trick. No brain in this chair. The buttons engage the servos to move and when you release everything stops. Easy peasy. What could be better? Well, leg rest and back moving in unison for one. But no. Memory buttons to put chair at predetermined posture. No. I guess that's what you get when you buy a sub 1000 dollar motion chair. C'mon, quit the BS. Is it comfortable? Yeppir. Firm on the bottom and back as well as the leg rest, cushier on the armrests. Two pet peeves with recliners, they don't, recline that is. This one, she do. From 12 o'clock to 2:45. The other is that when reclining the armrests are often too low to be useful as armrests. Win! It put me on my feet without any more motor noise than when it's reclining so I'm thinking the 300 pound limit is conservative, at least electro-mechanically. Time will tell about the cushions ability to withstand my awesome girth. Brand new and still got that new car smell. Let's see how it looks after a couple of miles. I'll let you know. Update the first: December is nigh. What, like a month and a half of my relationship with this chair? Still happy with it. It seems unphased by having to deal with me daily, something my own legs are somewhat tenuous about doing. The lift me out of the chair thing is reserved for the days when I punish myself to the point that gravity puts me in the chair and gravity insists that I stay in the chair. Mostly I just get out of it like a bipedal anthropoid. I put a 2x4 under the front legs because it felt too perpendicular to the floor. Perpendicularity is not a design flaw in a chair. It isn't in keeping with the recliner gestalt though. Pitching it back invites that much more reclining, and after all, isn't that the point? If sufficient reclining is adequate then logically too much reclining is better. I got batteries and that function works although I only bumped the switch to verify. I doubt that there's much more than a trip or two in two 9v batteries so waste not want not. It could be bigger. I've had bigger. That said, it's a fine addition to the menagerie of gizmos that I have acquired to fight that perpetual war for freedom to procrastinate.

I bought this for my boyfriend after many days of searching for the perfect, yet affordable, power recliner I could find. This was his dream recliner, the only thing missing was a built in cup holder but he's ok with the couchcoaster add-on I got for him. This fit in my budget, is high quality, looks very classy, and works amazing, tested by him and me as well. The box was huge and started opening at one end but everything was there, very well packed and protected, and was delivered in pristine condition. The assembly was unbelievably easy and fast, only took 10 minutes for two people. We didn't even need the directions, you can just tell which part goes where using common sense. It came with 4 parts that all slid in fairly easy, the big pieces were no problem, the wings just needed a little adjustment to get the right angle for them to slide in and we were done. The opening of the box and the cleanup took longer than putting it together. My experience went very smooth, I inspected it thoroughly to make sure there were no imperfections and no bed bugs as one reviewer had scared me with as I've had experience with them in the past. I can only say, I highly doubt the possibility of getting bed bugs from new furniture coming from a warehouse. It's easy to place the blame on a company out of embarrassment, that just happened to sell you new furniture at the same time that your house was infested with bed bugs. Sorry to say, but most of the time it comes from your own house and your house gets it from family or friends that are too embarrassed to tell you they had or have bed bugs. Bottom line, don't be discouraged in trying this recliner because one reviewer found it fitting to scare potential buyers and conveniently blame her problem on a furniture company that can't defend itself. Another thing to note is that this chair is great for short people, which we are, so it's no big deal for us but for taller people maybe 5'5 and up, your feet will probably be hanging over the end. Overall, this is a great addition to my living room and I might buy another one for myself in the future. 5 star purchase and a worthy investment that made my boyfriend very happy.

I bought this for my 6'2", 195#, 78 year old husband for Christmas because he had trouble getting in and out of chairs due to double knee replacements. He was scheduled for surgery in January, which could further impede his ability get out of the chair he spend all of his waking hours in, so after looking at many recliners and reading a lot of customer reviews, I felt this chair would be a good solution. Well, based on my husband's report, it turned out to be perfect. First, in resting position it sets a little higher than the regular recliner he used to have, which in his case the higher profile is comfortable to start with. The lift feature is very helpful for him, especially on the days he is feeling more tired than ususal. While in the full recline position the end of the leg lift falls to about 4" above his ankle. I was very concerned about this when I researched the dimensions of all the chairs I looked at. The seat is wider than the regular recliner. My husband is not slender but not heavy in stature (195#), but I am certain that if he were heavier it would certainly still be comfortable. He reports it is quite comfortable. When the motor for lift and recline is activated, it is very quiet. The leather is very attractive and seems to be very sturdy. It was shipped in a sturdy box and relatively easy to assemble. It was delivered to our garage. Delivery did not include set up, but I knew that up front because that information was included in the advertising, so it was up to us to move it to the intended room which was a slight challenge only because he is 78, and I am 63, but we figured it out and took our time. As advertised it fit through a regular door opening. The chair is delivered in two main sections, the lower seat and the back. The lower section is heavier than a regular recliner because of the motor. My guess is about 10-12 lbs. heavier. The arm cushions and the vertical side back cushions need to be installed but were quite easy because they are mounted on slide brackets and just slide together fairly easy. The two main sections slide together pretty easy as well. Then the hand control gets plugged in to the motor, and the motor is plugged into the wall and it's ready to go. I have hopefully provided enough information for those that are shopping for this type of chair. My husband (the main user of the chair) and I are very satisfied with the purchase of this chair and would recommend it.

When the box arrived it was in good condition. The chair was in several pieces: the base, the back, and the 2 side wings. The packaging was all intact. When I removed the pieces from the box I noticed the back for the chair had two places where the fabric had been worn through by the rough wood section that fits into the base of the chair. I took the manufacturer information enclosed with my chair and located the customer service phone number. I dialed and was connected with a representative. I explained I had received the chair and opened the packaging. I answered her question, "was the packaging damaged?". I assured her it was not. I told her about the two rips in the fabric. I explained that it was not damaged by shipping but that it was poorly assembled by simply stretching the fabric across rough wood edges without having first padded the wood. She told me that it was not the manufacture's responsibility because it was sold by a private seller. We discussed how to handle the replacement back. I told her I felt it would be best to just send a replacement back, and I would return the damaged back in that packaging, as it would be easier, (less weight for the carrier and less cost for the seller). She agreed that was best and told me to contact the seller for a replacement back, (seemingly assuring this replacement would be sent). So I removed the remaining items from the package, put the chair together easily, and disposed of the shipping container. I contacted the seller via email, and I explained what had been discussed with the manufacturer, assuring the seller that the damage had not occurred as a result of shipping but was a defect caused by the manufacturer. Some days later, (2 or 3), I received an email from the seller. The seller explained that they couldn't locate the manufacturer representative I had spoken with. I was also told that they did not have replacement backs. They told me that I should just keep the chair, as is, and watch for any further ripping of the fabric, and I should contact them again after more damage has occurred. This is very unsatisfactory. I actually paid more for this chair because I thought I could trust the quality more than that of another, lesser known company. I certainly never expected this. They're not even observing the manufacturer warranty. I'm stuck with ripped fabric and a "see how it goes" response. And, honestly, the chair is not all that comfortable. The seat is hard, (not well cushioned, without and feeling of springs or padding), and the back, when reclined moves in a way that requires me to scoot back in the seat before lying back. Otherwise, I'm left with an awkward space under my back. Overall, the chair looks very nice, and I would probably be more satisfied had it arrived in perfect condition, (or had eithe the seller or manufacture just made it right. That being said, I just wish I had bought it from a showroom and tested it out first. I will not buy furniture from Amazon again. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Got this for my 75 year old Dad who was having trouble getting up and often going head first onto the floor. The chair stands you up almost to a full stand. Comes in one box and fits right through the door with no problem. Open the box attach the back to the base (no tools), pug in the wires (quick connect) and pug it into the wall (5stars). Not really complaining about this part just my opinion seeing how when I ordered the chair I didn’t notice it was the one with the heat and vibration features. But I wasn’t about to send it back.. Lol… I did go to Ashley’s to try the chairs first before I ordered here. Plus free shipping right to his facility. The only thing that I thought was a joke is the vibration and heating part. Makes a lot of noise and doesn’t really vibrate at all. Not enough to make you say, Oh that’s nice! Nope 🤣 Heat, well not real noticeable either. Overall it is working great and he’s very happy with it and that is all that matters 👍🏼

This chair appears to be made well. The leatherette looks like leather and has good coloration. The two motors are smooth and do the job as expected. It has a battery back up which is a great feature if you worry about power outage. The biggest drawback, and it’s a big one for me, is that the foot rest does not go all the way up to a 90° angle. It only comes up to about 70° which leaves your legs pointing down. It does have some good back support but it’s not designed ergonomically for comfortable sitting in the seat, in fact the back support feels like it’s pushing me out of the chair a bit. I have to really move my bottom back and adjust my derrière so that I don’t feel like I’m going to slide off. Because of the low foot rest, too much blood rushes to the feet when all I want to do is recline and give my feet some rest. Even when I put a full pillow under my legs, they still do not go straight out. So what I have to do is bend my knees and have my legs Indian style on the foot rest to take the pressure off of my feet. If I had to do it over I would not purchase this chair because of the discomfort in my legs and the inability to really feel seated in it. It does, however, recline almost all the way back to about a 170° angle. This makes it great for sleeping & blood does not rush down to my feet when I’m reclining all the way back. It’s still very disconcerting to have my legs pointing downward or downhill And feeling like I’m not fully situated in it. I am 5’6” and on the heavy side and the chair is certainly wide enough for The majority of users . The chair is pretty high up and my feet dangle in the air when the foot rest is down... they don’t touch the ground. It’s probably a better chair for someone who is over 5’10”. However, their feet would really dangle over the end because it’s not the longest chair.
