We absolutely love the support this mattress offers along with being a durable design. The mattress is rather heavy (use the premium unpacking service at check out and make that part Amazon's problem) but I've never found a light quality mattress. The mattress is about a supportive medium firmness and doesn't appear to heat up while you're sleeping. The best way to describe the sensation of sleeping on this mattress is it's like getting an embrace or warm hug while you're sleeping.

I was looking to replace my 13 yr old Sleep Innovations foam mattress. I knew the Ashley mattress I bought for my son's room was top quality, so I had my eye on this one for awhile. Gosh I'm sure glad I finally hit the order now button. I ordered the 14" because I didn't want to sink in too much. I think that was my prior issue with my 12". First night it was ready and puffed up to full 14" and not surprisingly, I had 0 lower back pain. It is a pretty mattress, and it certainly supports all the usual areas. I am 200 lbs so I was pleased after reading other reviews of ppl this size they also experienced good sleep. You don't sink too much if at all it just feels like you're really supported without sleeping on a brick. Its all true! Buy it now!!! I wish I'd done it years ago. Be aware: the box is HEAVY. I had to drag it down the hallway and lift it out by myself. Get a friend or your partner to help.

I rated this as 4 stars for one reason, and one reason only so please read…First thing I’d like to say is this…I worked for Aaron’s as a delivery driver and this is one of the beds that they sell. I delivered a bunch of these more than any other mattress brand we had on our showroom floor and it made me curious. I layed down for a second on our 12 inch floor model and immediately wanted this mattress…I’ve needed a new bed for years but really didn’t want to spend so much money for one and couldn’t really afford to do it honestly but man I got so tired of my lower sacral hurting me every morning and waking me up every 2 hours each night, my old mattress was just terrible. With that being said I almost purchased this mattress from them on a payment plan but total cost of ownership would have had me stuck in a 24 month payment plan for a total ownership cost of just over $3,900 (granted you get a bed frame with it too but a cheap one nonetheless)…needless to say I didn’t do it and decided to check amazon for it. Thankfully I found the same mattress for sale here on Amazon in the even thicker 14 inch model…it was also on sale for less than $600 which for me was an absolute no brainer, so I immediately purchased the 14 inch queen!!! Now onto my review of this mattress after receiving it and setting it up a few days ago…..when this mattress arrived, the packaging was absolutely destroyed either in shipping or from the factory and/or both…and when I say destroyed I mean it was falling apart so badly on both ends that pieces of the box were completely missing, looked as if it was taped up a million times, and the mattress was literally just hanging out of the box. One end was protected by the plastic, but the other end not so much….on the other end, the beds fabric was hanging out and I could immediately tell that someone had been dragging this heavy 130 pound mattress around by the fabric top. I just knew the bed was going to be damaged (I delivered so many of these and know very well how they are wrapped and what they should look like before being unwrapped). You can’t drag these around by the fabric where the foam is also supposed to be because you can stretch it and rip the foam. I would have denied this package immediately and had them resend a new one had I been here at home when it was delivered and not at work. Well, I took pictures before unboxing and then still decided to go ahead and give it a chance. Once I opened it up and let it expand, everything expanded like it was supposed to except for the end it was being dragged around by…one end of the bed expanded and made the top tight, while the other end sagged and wouldn’t do anything. I could not only see the damage but I could feel the torn foam and it looks terrible. I gave it the recommended 72 hours and did not sleep on it or sit on it during this period, and still did not expand on that end…So needless to say I was pretty upset and decided to contact Amazon about it. Thankfully I was able to show them the pictures of the damage and they helped me resolve the issue very quickly so I’m very thankful for that. The shipping issues is the ONLY reason I rated it 4 stars. Other than that, this mattress is absolutely fantastic! It is super comfortable and I’d say it is a medium firm. It hugs you more than it lets you sink in , and is expands right back out immediately when you get up. It’s not firm enough to feel as if you are laying on a solid flat surface, and to me this bed is not hot….ill admit, some of the reviews I read worried me a bit but I’m glad I didn’t let them stop me from purchasing it, and you shouldn’t either! It is fantastic, it is super comfortable, and it is affordable here more than anywhere else!! Just get it and try it out!! You won’t be disappointed I promise you!! Only other thing I will say is that it’s very heavy at 130 pounds, so get help with setting it up if you can, I did it alone and it was a pain. My only other advice is this, if it comes damaged, just send it back right then and have a new one sent out to you, because I’m sure you know this already, but once you take it out of the box and unwrap it, you will NEVER get it back in that box and plastic wrap, so returning it will just be a tremendous headache for you and the delivery driver at that point lol.

I was a little nervous buying a mattress without trying it out, but this was a risk that paid off. The quality of materials was very nice. You can feel that the mattress is dense but also soft and comfortable. It arrived in a box as expected, and was fully expanded and ready to go within a few hours. Very much worth it!

This mattress is extremely uncomfortable, non-supportive, sleeps way too HOT, and causes me tremendous neck, shoulder, and back, pain. No matter how I lay on this mattress (side, back, or stomach), I can feel the innersprings digging into my body, including my ribcage, hips, tailbone, and more. One of the reasons I selected this "Signature Design by Ashley Ashley Hybrid 14" Medium Mattress," is so I hopefully wouldn't feel the 8" innersprings under the 6 inches of foam, but unfortunately, I can still feel the miserable innersprings. This mattress immediately sinks in several inches when laid, or sat, upon. And when my 55 lb. dog joins me, we roll inwards towards each other (I'm average build and weigh 182 lbs.). Also, this mattress is slow to regain it's shape after laying, or sitting, on it. And innersprings are bulging out along the sides (protruding enough to see from several feet away). The mattress arrived w/ the bulges, which are visible even when no one is on the bed. And there is a chemical smell which is still lingering since unboxing. Plus, (maybe most disappointing of all) my new mattress arrived right out of the box with a divot in the most commonly used location. Kind of as if someone had been sitting on the edge of it for years. You can even see the "dip" from across the room. It's especially noticeable when the bed is made. Basically, it appears my new mattress arrived already "broke in." It doesn't look, nor feel, like a new mattress. It looks, and feels, like an old mattress placed inside a new mattress cover. I do NOT recommend this mattress. I feel this mattress was a total waste of my monies (675.74). This (brand new) mattress feels as bad as the 8+ year old, worn out, mattress it replaced. Disappointing to say the least. Finally, although the description says this mattress "is compatible with most queen bed frames," the included paperwork (that was sealed inside w/ this mattress) states otherwise. According to the included "Ashley-Sleep Warranty Information," "*** Ashley's mattresses are designed to be used with a foundation or an adjustable bed base foundation." The platform frame that Amazon suggests you "buy [this mattress] with" isn't recommended by the manufacturer because the manufacturer says this mattress requires a flat, solid, surface. The Ashley-Sleep Warranty Information states, "If you use an inappropriate foundation or box spring with this mattress, such use will void these limited warranties."
