This lens was on my radar for a very long time and I don't know why I took so long to pull the trigger on it. I have a sony a7s which uses e mounts and this is an a mount lens so I use this with the La ea3 adapater. Auto focus is complete garbage BUT that's because of my adapter not the lens. If you plan on using this with an e mount camera and want better auto focus you should definitely buy the La ea4 adapater. I do manual focus and mainly video work so I'm fine with what I have. The image quality is fantastic for a zoom lens, the zoom ring is very smooth, and the focus ring is very smooth. It also has built in image stabilization which is just an absolute blessing. It works very well and it is completely silent. I've already used this lens on a huge event gig and it performed beautifully. This is going to be my new workhorse lens for a long time. ... show more

I tried this lens out for a week on a trip to New Orleans by renting one from: LensRentals.comm. I really liked the results and the, for me, ideal focal length for a trip. Pros: Great results, it belongs to Sigma's ART collection. Attached to your FF this lens looks very cool....cooler than when I had a Canon 5D2 with a 24-105 L attached to it. Seriously GREAT Results!! Cons: This is one very heavy lens...My A99 is relatively light as SLT/SLR goes, but this is a significant lens..uses an 82mm filter. If your a Sony owner, you have three choices: 1) A Sony (rebadged Tamron) 2) A not much better yet far more expensive Zeis, or 3) a third party lens of which it seems Sigma is more dedicated to helping us Sony owners out than anyone else. ... show more

I've had this lens for a few months now and am left wanting something different. My biggest complaints are that this lens is not sharp around the edges at all when shot around 24-35mm, and it has horrible vignetting at the corners (all the time) and all the outer edges at the widest angles. I've loved all my other Sigma art lenses, but this one misses the mark big time. If you shoot with the lens hood at 24mm, you also see the corners of the hood showing. I loved the idea of such a wide zoom range, but that is one of the only features of this lens that I am left liking. As a professional, I can't give this top marks for quality, because it is unfortunately lacking. ... show more

As the “newer “ mirrorless cameras are becoming more available most all lens companies are dropping the manufacturing lens for the A series cameras. Because I have large hands I can’t hold on to them This fill the bill for what I am using it for the zoom control os backward too what I am used to but I still get fantastic pictures from it I have many lens for my Sony cameras I can’t afford to but all new lens and Well wort the money I spent for it ... show more
