  • Wonderful fast zoom
Style: Sigma Set: US Version
I love this lens. I purchased it to use on my Sigma SD Quattro H camera, and it has wonderful image quality, which is important since the the SD H had 50 MP effective resolution. It also covers the H sensor without trouble, even though it is DC lens. Have not noticed any vignetting at any aperture. This is a heavy lens, so realize that making a zoom that has a 1.8 constant aperture is no "small" feat. I worried about whether it would be worth the cost, but it is worth every penny I paid. Excellent build quality, feel absolutely solid, and operate very smoothly. Yo won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • 2 months in this is my go to lens
Style: Sigma Set: US Version
Buying used is a great way to save some money and in this case I didn't sacrifice a shred of quality. This is the lens that is on my camera the most. It's super sharp and I love the fact that I get a very shallow depth of field (f1.8) in a zoom. This is much better than the nifty 50 for apsc cameras. The only downside, if you consider it one is the lens has some heft to it, but it's also a mark of the quality that went into it. ... show more

After finally getting the correct lens (at twice the advertised price) I was able to use it for a wedding. Fast and sharp. A little heavy but will be used often.

  • Best lens for APS-C
Style: Sigma Set: US Version
Sharp, versatile, fastest zoom lens! Kudos to Sigma for making a great general zoom lens and did I mention it's sharp even wide open?

  • All APS-C user must have..... all around.
Style: Sigma Set: US Version
I give 5 star because of the performance and the price range. it might be too early to give it a rating but I'm confidents I have a good copy. I will update my reviews later if needed. I have my eyes on this Art Lenses long before I decided to get the 18-35mm for my canon 7d. I got mine in the store at the big photo show and I have plenty of time to test it first out of the box before buying the lens. I bought the first lens I was testing. I did not bother to remove it from my camera and the store have no problem with it. Ok, here's my first observation of handling the lens on my camera. Beautiful Plastic Body and Nice to carry (weight is heavy for some but not for me), just imagine carrying 5 lens (18-20-24-28-3)5 in one. The motor is very quite and I'm very impressed (test video also). the Lens hood and the Cap are OK. Both adjustment ring are a little tight but very smooth. This will be my Walk around lens from now on and will be my back up for my 5D mk2, Done my focusing test at the store and the sales rep at the store was really helpful, they leave me alone. It probably take me 15 - 35 mins before I decided my purchase. I got my copy on the first box I tried. I did not purchase the USB Dock cause I think do not need it and it will not work on my Sig 85mm F1.4 also.... I'm lucky on this one too and this is on my 5d mk2 all the time. So, if you want this lens I suggest going to your local store and tried it first and learn how to perform focus test. One more I notice on this lens right away that really blow me away... is the manual focus (lens) is super sharp at F1.8. WOW! The auto focus work great also but maybe just me...the MF is much sharper. The draw back is that it was only design for the Crop Sensor. On Canon this lens will be (18)28.8mm to (35)56mm. This is a keeper lens. ... show more

  • My "Go-to" lens for almost every situation!!
Style: Sigma Set: US Version
I have now had this lens for about 6 months and it just keeps getting used more and more. I used it to shoot a concert last night in really poor lighting and not a single good angle. This was the only lens for this environment, it delivered sharp pictures in very low light. I use a 7D and the lens is not treated well by me as I walk around it still looks like the day I bought it. This is my first Sigma lens but it won't be my last based on this model. Only con I can think of is that it is very heavy and it does not focus lightning fast when moving but is very quick on fixed objects. Highly recommend to anyone shooting with a APS-C sensor. ... show more
