  • BE CAREFUL!! -mounting screws may be incorrect!!
I have a new Sig P320 Compact RXP with a factory-installed Romeo 1 Pro. I purchased this shroud after reading the description and believed it had everything needed for installation. THE MOUNTING SCREWS SUPPLIED WITH THIS SHROUD ARE THE INCORRECT SIZE AND THREAD!! The Sig factory mounted the Romeo 1 Pro optic on the slide with M4 x 0.7 x .85 T15 machine screws... The longer screws that come with the shroud will not fit. When you remove your existing sight compare the mounting screw diameter and thread pitch... if the new, longer screws supplied with the shroud are not the same diameter and thread pitch do not use them. You run the risk of damaging the threads in the slide which can be very expensive to remedy. I now have to either call Sig Sauer and sit on hold and try to get them to send me the correct screws or go look for the appropriate hardware locally. I am not happy about this; Sig Sauer makes the shroud kit and they drilled and tapped the holes in the slide in my new P320, but as this kit is sold it is unusable. ... show more

  • Protects RDS, but covers half of front sight.
I don't have a problem having to put a shroud on the Romeo1; EOTech has the same type "hood" for their red dots. But the problem with the shroud is that is raises the Romeo1 and it covers half the front sight Doesn't allow you to properly use the ironsights. For that, I think this is terrible. I gave it a 2 cause it protects the Romeo, but makes the iron sights beyond difficult to pick up quickly. ... show more

  • Most definitely made of Steel
As stated in another review, this is made of steel. Even Sig's website states it as such. That said, it is better at doing the job than aluminum. Gotta protect your investment! BEWARE though. If you have a factory-installed Romeo1Pro it would be best to use the existing screws that came with it rather than the screws provided with this shroud. The screws on my pre-installed Romeo1Pro are the same length as the provided screws, HOWEVER, the thread pitch appears to differ from each other. Rather than risk stripping the threads on my slide using the new screws, I just used the original ones that came with my Sig. 200 rounds through, no problems at all. I just wished it came with the big sight protector like the one's that are included with the Romeo1Pro if you bought it separately, otherwise it'll actually be worth the price tag. ... show more

  • Should be standard.
Wish I’d gotten this sooner. My Romeo 1 looked pretty rough after a year of smashing it into walls, racking it off belt buckles, rubbing on seatbelts and other equipment. Shockingly it lived, but the majority of the finish chipped away. This shroud does a great job of covering it, and can probably handle a lot more abuse. I’ve had it for a while now, and it doesn’t scratch or chip like the sight does. Great add on. ... show more

  • Needed because of Sig's poor design
Romeo 1 is a good RDS but it has zero durability. Sage Dynamics on youtube it failed first drop test, glass completely shattered. At least the glass was out of the way so you can use your iron sights (if you have them). But this shroud does cover some of the front sight. I can see most of the front sight and it was accurate at the range with the Romeo 1 turned off. Sig should have made the Romeo 1 and Romeo Zero (now also has a shroud but not for sale yet) out of metal to begin with. The Trijocon and Holosuns passed multiple drop tests done by Sage Dynamics. I don't like that I needed to buy this but will keep it on for now. Also upset that some people who sent their Romeo Zero in for repair got them back with a free shroud for their Zero. I paid $65 for this because they were all out of stock for months. ... show more

  • MADE of STEEL!
First off. This shroud is made of "STEEL" and not of aluminum like described. Which is a good thing. Just remember when installing to put your Romeo and shroud together and line up holes while sliding both into machined dovetail on slide at the same time. It's a little tricky but will fit. Took me a few tries. It's been reported that using this shroud, It will cover up some of the front sight when aligned with rear. I did not experience this at all. My factory RX slide came with suppressor height installed sights. I experience clear and unobstructed sight alignment. I would purchase a "laser bore sight cartridge" to check iron sight alignment and Romeo 1 at a factory set 25 yards zero POA/POI. I hope this helps, and enjoy this purchase. ... show more

  • Shroud fits, somewhat
I purchased this to fit over the Romeo 1 pro. Initially, it made contact with the sight on the top left corner. I removed the Romeo sight, installed the shroud and bent it so that it would have even clearance around the sight. After reinstalling the sight and the shroud, all looked good. If not for this, I would have given it five stars. ... show more

  • Works well with Romeo 1 Pro
Works just fine with the Romeo 1 Pro, but take the time to center the shroud on the optic. The holes are a bit oversized vs the screw diameter and since the Romeos lack locating lugs like an RMR , there is play. I put this on a Sig Legion RXP with Romeo 1 Pro cut and had no issues. I did use the screws that came with the pistol and torqued to 30in lbs per the optic instructions. I felt there was plenty of thread engaging with the original screws. For what it’s worth, the same item on the SIG website specifically says it works with the Romeo 1 and Romeo 1 Pro only. Not sure why there is so much confusion. ... show more
