Some of the reviews that I read gave me the impression that a number of the difficulties were not the locks fault but probably due to assumptions, bad troubleshooting or lack of experience. I had some troubles getting my new locks to work but I quickly determined and resolved the issues and found that these locks work GREAT! The design is sound but it can get complicated. One area that may need to be improved is the decision to get the gateway. I found some Youtube clips that helped understand what is going on but didn't answer if I need multiple gateways if I'm farther then bluetooth range or is there a work around if I ...... well I am not sure yet. Seems that the G2 Gateway is a simple device but costly if you need to buy more than one. I'm still going to school on this one. One of the biggest steps forward was to decide that having a smart deadbolt rather than the smart door handle checked all the boxes for us and saved us $ when I found this simple solution. We have a lot of doors and it could have gotten expensive if I let myself loose. If budget is a concern, proceed with caution. #1 - ID your most used doors and pathways and lock those down. #2 - choose to add the secondary doors if the budget allows. #3 - Then STOP............................if you want!? ;-)> ... show more

I installed this the other day and so far so good! Installation was pretty easy, although I did find that the strike that goes on the door was slightly larger than the existing one on my door, so I needed to chisel the door a little bit in order for it to fit right. The instructions were very detailed and explained everything step-by-step. After using it a bit I have a couple of overall comments about it that could be improved, but overall, for the price, its been really good so far. I also bought the G2 gateway too so I can access it remotely. The setup/pairing/etc of the gateway was super easy & simple. 1) The lock/unlock button at the bottom of the dial does not illuminate with the rest of the numbers. I think it would be better if it did, otherwise in the dark if you are using the lock you're unsure of where to press to lock or unlock the door, especially if you are unfamiliar with it. 2) The instructions mention waving your hand in front of it to get the numbers to light up. I've found that doesn't actually happen. Seems you have to first press anywhere on the black part of the dial to get the numbers to illuminate before you start entering a code. 3) When generating a new passcode, you can't change the passcode it generates until you've used the passcode on the lock once. This is problematic if I want to generate a passcode for a friend/relative and want to give them a code they will know/remember. I have to give them this long random code the first time, then once they've used it once I can then change it to something else. I would be nicer if when generating a new passcode I could input the passcode for it to use rather than get an auto-generated one that MUST be used at least once. ... show more

Works well, pretty easy to pair and use which is one of the most important things for me when using a smart device. I’m happy with it. I think that a couple of things could be better: - there is a delay when trying to wake up the lock from the outside to enter your code. Sometimes I push on a number accidentally because I’m pushing repeatedly to wake it up. - I wish it was a little more clear that this thing does not have wifi capabilities without buying an additional device but maybe that was me not paying attention. - the lock has a little click like getting stuck when fully extended. Not sure if this is my door set up and thats why my last smart lock failed. Overall it’s great, affordable, the app works well. I wish the outside screen was easier to wake up but I rarely use it anymore as the app and the RF card work so well that I usually unlock my door while I’m still walking from my car. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So I now own 4 of these locks. I have owned one for 11 months and battery life is at 85%, this is the front door to my house. 4 people living here it gets a ton of use, easily battery will last 2 yrs + and that’s regular AA. Functions work great, can program a bunch of codes for each person, temporarily codes, specific to day and time, delete codes etc. The gateway (separately sold) I think is a must if you want or need to control the lock away from home. If you just use the app near the lock (blue tooth) you can do everything. I personally love that I can unlock, lock door, set up codes and delete codes remotely and in different state. This lock also provides you to connect to Alexa with downloading skill for Alexa. I have it program to lock every night at 11pm, alexa will also notify me if no one is home and lock is left open. I use one at a short term rental and has worked flawless for now months. Has key card to enter instead of typing in a code as well..This lock is just awesome and has all the functions anyone could ever need. Few tips: Lock must have no resistance when locking, so you will need to make sure things line up correctly. (This is with any electronic lock motor regardless of brand) When setting up profile it asks for phone number, you must type it in exactly as described with country code, area code etc or you won’t be able to set everything up. Basically buy the lock, works great and longest battery life out of any I have ever owned, has all functions and more anyone could ever need. Best of all is the price ! ... show more

Product seems good so far. Only thing I noticed is your catch plates must be adjusted and be precise or the lock will have difficult time locking or unlocking.
