These are very nice lights. The body is cast aluminum and is well-sealed from the elements. Very bright at sunset and are very easy to see. My son has a truck that has the turning radius of a road grader. He confessed that he side-swiped it and it went to the edge of the driveway and fractured it just enough to render it inoperable. I started to just write it off since I had several extra ones...plus I just didn't want to mess with the return hassle. After a little thought, I decided to give the return route a try. The people were incredible and quick to respond on all fronts. Very professional and friendly. I had a new in about three or four days. It was well-packaged and no damage at all. We love these lights! We have them everywhere! Living in the Texas hill country it’s very dark here due to the fact there are no street lights and not allowed to have bight spot lights. These are wonderful! Just take them out of the box and flip the switch on the back and that’s it. Super easy to install . We used liquid nails to secure ours down but it does come with screws / holes on it so you can use them on wood. They last and last ! With all the deer / critters here they are much more functional for us being flat so that they can’t be knocked over! I feel they are worth the extra money because of how long they last. We have some that are 2 years old which is amazing considering the extreme temps here. We get weather from 105- to snow!! Get them! ... show more

    • Not as useful as I had hoped

I ordered 16 of these. Only 14 of them worked. I used them to delineate the boundaries of different levels of a deck. The idea is to see that I am stepping down to a new level and to see what I was about to step on. They are bright and do a good job of identifying the boundary but do not put out much ambient light, so while I know where the boundary is, I can't see anything I might be stepping on (e.g., acorn, Lego block, or empty space). I can use the lights, but I'll just use them to identify the outer edge of the deck (which is under 3ft above the ground and has no railing). The lights do a good job of showing where the edge is, and I plan to get another 16 of them. Installing them was easy, but I did something a little more extravagant than just screwing them down. I didn't want to damage the deck with screw holes, so I fastened them to the edge of 1/4" plywood and slid the plywood into the cracks between the planks. ... show more

The placement of these lights can be in the grass, stairs, across my driveway or along my driveway, flower beds… they are virtually indestructible as they are built to be run over by a vehicle. They are medium bright but not blinding glaring bright. I found them very attractive and of high quality. I put them across my driveway to deter drivers from using my driveway to turn around.
